<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Final Recap **

A stunning conclusion to the Gashimov Memorial, as the entire chess world is talking about how <GOLDEN EXECUTIVE> won a Quadruple Crown! And Magnus Carlsen also did well. <GE> won all 4 Rankers outright, which our historians are checking now, but that is possibly the first time in the Moves Prediction Contest that's happened. <GE> was besieged by autograph seekers and well wishers and even a couple chess groupies as he acknowledged the accolades of the fans.

In a shocking display of poor sportsmanship, <chessmoron> refused to acknowledge <GE's> achievement and walked out the door in a huff, demanding <Winky> finish the scoring.

<bubuli> made a belated effort to improve his chances by a transparent effort at flattery to <OCF>, which is in fact a sure way to succeed, but in this case, not nearly enough to help <bubuli>.

So as the confetti rains down, and <Pengo> moans and groans that he's no longer the only Quadruple Crown winner, <GE> is on top of the chess world, equalled only, possibly, maybe, by Carlsen. It's been an honor to be part of such an exciting event. Congratulations to <GE> and to everyone else who didn't win, since they were a small part of history. Thanks for playing!

Apr-09-19  wordfunph: grandslam for <GE> wow congrats!

thanks <OCF> <chessmoron> <WinKing> and all contestants..

<OCF> your after round reviews are entertaining, keep it up! gracias amigo..

...Gashimov.

<Penguincw> had the first Quadruple Crown ever but it was not a Perfect Quadruple as he shared first place in two of the Rankers.

Both <SwitchingQuylthulg>'s & <Golden Executive>'s Quadruple Crowns were Perfectos - they both won all of the Rankers outright.

Penguincw: Thanks for hosting. Hopefully I can actually predict all rounds next time. Congrats to <Golden Executive> for the sole quadruple crown. Well deserved.

Bye.

Apr-10-19  Count Wedgemore: Thanks to <OCF>, <chessmoron> and <WinKing> for another fun and interesting contest. I'm happy to have won some medals, but next time I want a goLd medal. "Silver is defeat!", as a famous Norwegian athlete used to say.

I take my hat off for <Golden Executive>'s phenomenal performance. All of us, we were outmatched this time by our good Mexican friend. Bien hecho, Alfredo!

Apr-10-19  WinKing: <Count Wedgemore:I'm happy to have won some medals, but next time I want a goLd medal. "Silver is defeat!", as a famous Norwegian athlete used to say.>

I can't totally disagree with that but on the 'glass half full' side of things a Silver medal means that you are always in the hunt. ;)

OhioChessFan: Great to hear on Grenke.

I lean toward "Silver is defeat", but I also confess I was thrilled to hit a #1.

Apr-10-19  Golden Executive: Thanks a lot to the crew: <chessmoron>, <OhioChessFan>, and <WinKing>. Great Job as usual.

Thanks/congratulations to the other medalists, especially to my friend <WinKing> who had a huge round 9 to steal two silvers at the very very last moment. You can never forget about the guy who has won 39 golds, the most ever in the MPC.

It was just after round 7 that I realized I had some real chances to make a bid for the quadruple crown. Well, I guess Lady Luck was on mi side this time.

See you guys in a few days!
