<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 5 Recap **

We're past the halfway point as our contest barrels on. <lostemperor> continues to lead 2 Rankers. <Pengo> leads 1 and <OCF> leads 1.

In an interesting strategy, <Messiah> picked all three results (1-0, 1/2, 0-1) in the Aronian-Giri game. It turned out to be effective, as he was the only contestant to score any points on that game! <OCF> and <Pengo> decided not to bring the matter to <chessmoron's> attention.

In other news, <juan> had to be chased out of the playing hall when he stayed there for hours after the tournament games were over, in hopes of watching more games be played. "It'd be the highlight of my life to keep watching chess!", he yelled at security as they escorted him away. Meanwhile, in the Final Standings Contest, <Messiah> and <lostemperor> engaged in some Chess Battle Rap. They made it even more difficult by limiting themselves to emoticons! The judges are hard at work to figure out a winner.

Can the 3 leaders hold on for just a few more rounds? Can <juan> come back after his furious start and subsequent fall off? Will a dark horse emerge from the pack? Can someone besides <Messiah> and <CC22> <please> kibtiz something on the site besides on the contest pages so that <OhioChessFan> will have material to use against them?

Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other vexing questions. 4 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 7 Recap **

<lostemperor> and <Pengo> have taken over our contest as each leads 2 Rankers. All the other contestants have been in consultation how to slow them down. <OCF> had the brilliant idea of not submitting picks that round, but he'd probably have scored the same anyway.

In other news, <OCF> has joined <chessmoron> in his search for <Messiah>. <OCF> took personal umbrage at <Messiah's> questioning his industriousness. <cm> suggested to <OCF> that he not get too upset, as not turning in picks sort of does look like you're lazy.

In other news, <Pengo> shared a fascinating discussion with all of the contestants about how he managed not to enter his picks as "1/2-1/2" as he normally does, but instead, entered them as "1/2". <chessmoron> was hoping to record and then sell copies of the lecture, but unfortunately, everyone in attendance fell asleep. To everyone's shock, <Messiah> caused an uproar in the playing arena by screaming "GREAT MOVE" after one of Nepo's moves. It's possibly the first ever positive comment he's made about a chess player that wasn't defeating Carlsen.

Meanwhile, <CC22> has been annoying everyone by asking about some 1800 player named Anders Lundback, and wondering if they can play in the Chess Masters Tournament next year. The Aronian camp has asked <juan> to quit predicting him to do well, as Aronian was immediately jinxed by <juan's> predictions of him winning the tournament.

Can anyone catch <lostemperor> and <Pengo>? Who will <Messiah> insult next? Who will <Messiah> compliment next? Will someone explain to <CC22> they are looking for 2800's and not 1800's for this tournament? Who will <juan> jinx next? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other pressing questions. 2 rounds to go in our thrilling tournament.
