WannaBe: Super weird, I specified chessgames.com in the cookies setting, and after closing the browser and re-opening, I had to sign in! Grrrrr

Testing with another browser.

WannaBe: Looks like only IE, every time I close the browser or let it sit for a while, I need to re-sign in.

Chrome does not exhibit this behaviour, but Firefox gives me a warning on login page as saying connection unsecure.

WannaBe: I did a reboot, the issue seem to have gone away with IE logging me out. Unless CG.com did something on their side, too.

chessgames.com: <saffuna: Question for administrators: Is the Wesley So player page intended for discussion of So's games and career (as with all other players), or is it an official fan page?> Can't it be both? If you find something out of line, please report it.

<WannaBe: Not quite sure what is going on, but my Internet Explorer somehow signed me out of CG 3 times today. Doing full scan of my computer right now. Did something change with CG or is it possibly my cookie setting in IE? Hmmmmm.> Sorry to hear that; nothing changed on our end.

<Dr Winston OBoogie> Lately we clean up the Kibitzer's Cafe on a periodic basis. That means offending material may remain visible for a period of time. Your whistlers are noted.

Please do not repost material that you blow the whistle on; it's not only hypocritical but it makes our job harder when we finally get to scrubbing it.

chessgames.com: <Adolf Anderssen would have been 200 today. Two glorious centuries!> Oh, that's a pity we didn't celebrate a bicentennial.
Jul-06-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: Whilst I respect you admitting you clean up when you can be bothered if you can be bothered at all, I object to this..

<Please do not repost material that you blow the whistle on; it's not only hypocritical but it makes our job harder when we finally get to scrubbing it.>

Finally? Then you need reminding there's a lunatic on the loose who posts my personal information, insults <everybody> on this site by calling them "Pedos, druggies, nonces, w****kers" etc etc etc and insults <WOMEN>. I'll blow the whistle, I'll wait 3 days and if his <completely random insanity> hasn't been deleted In future I'll post it in this forum so you know how we all feel. I'll take a few suspensions for the rest of us, let's face it I've done it dozens of times before. You need to stop what he's doing. Most people are starting to get on, or at least settle their differences. He's just a 🔔 end who took a wrong turn on the internet. I'm not kidding when I say I would have bought half a dozen memberships for the friends I do have on this site, I'd pay DOUBLE if you actually stopped all this madness. It's not hard! SMH.

Jul-06-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: I just wish you'd respond to the whistles in reasonable time, that way I wouldn't have anything to complain about....I won't go any further!

Goodnight :)

  offramp: A strange coincidence!

O Borik vs Miles, 1979 (kibitz #4)

Today's GoTD is "Alas, Poor Borik".
Yesterday was M Lewitt vs H Caro, 1905, Horatio.

"Alas, poor Yorick. I knew him, Horatio."

  kingscrusher: Hi Chessgames.com

May I suggest creating a special page for Leela Chess - it is playing some amazing chess - maybe new concepts being demonstrated e.g.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU7...

My Leela playlist :

You can pick up games from the Leela Chess forum:

saffuna: <Can't it be both? If you find something out of line, please report it.>

I agree entirely, but <tpstar> apparently doesn't:

< <Appaz> Maybe you could get rid of this infantile, uncontrollable urge to create, stir up and feed off conflicts among name players on the Internet, like when you crashed the Wesley So page right before the Candidate's Tournament. >

How in the world did <appaz> "crash" the Wesley So page by pointing out a clear error by So (or whoever was posting in his name? I see no reason why this sort of post is wrong.

Jul-09-18  morfishine: Hello <CG> I would hope <harrylime> is permanently banned from chessgames.com

He's a disgusting, vulgar, obscene pervert

moronovich: Yes,<harrylime> is an absolute disgrace.
Jul-09-18  Count Wedgemore: I've thought for a while about making a similar post as <morfishine> and <moronovich> have done. But, quite frankly, I assumed that there must be a reason that this poster has not been permanently banned long ago. This poster must have a special rapport with the <CG>-administrators, or has some form of special protection.

Because, well, how is it possible that he can be allowed to poison the pages on the Kibitzer's Cafe with endless, vulgar and gratuitous insults?

Apparently, <chessgames> is okay with a poster who regularly refer to other posters as pedophiles and other defamatory insults. How come this guy still have posting privileges, at all?

I find <chessgames> a terrific site, and Daniel Freeman seems like a really nice and friendly person with a cool sense of humor. But the reluctance to deal with the <harrylime> problem is disappointing.

Jul-09-18  Keyser Soze: What is funny is watching <confessed> rulebreakers complaining about others. What about some people start using more the ignore function instead of whining about it?
Jul-09-18  thegoodanarchist: <Keyser Soze: What is funny is watching <confessed> rulebreakers complaining about others. What about some people start using more the ignore function instead of whining about it?>

Some person enjoys bullying the founder of this website. He has had multiple user accounts deleted, but still persists.

Same dude likes bullying other people as well. You just have to stand up to bullies and their threats, the way I did.

He kept telling lies about what I had posted, and when he got another premium membership I called him on it. Told him to search for what he said I wrote. I told him to back up his bogus claim.

He shut up after that.

That's my two cents.

offramp: The Rogoff page reminds me of the Stateroom Scene from <A Night At The Opera> with the Marx Brothers.

Every now and then there is so much shouting and screaming going on that people burst out the door and come flooding over to this page without even pausing for breath.

OhioChessFan: Can we get an on/off switch for our ignore list? Say, somewhere on my forum page, just 2 buttons to click: "Activate ignore list" and "Deactivate ignore list"?
