  jessicafischerqueen: Good evening.

Well the historical tournaments project has proved a smashing success eh? With lots more to come. Congratulations to you and thanks from all of us happy members of cg.com. Tournament Index

So I'm wondering if you are still planning to make the <ChessBookForum> an official page run by you (the admins)?

If you made an official Chess Book page, announced it in the newsletter, and put the link on the front page of the website, it would likely attract a lot more attention and become a growing concern not just at our website but all over the internets. It would be yet another first for our team!

<hms123> and I don't mind continuing to pay for and run this forum- User: ChessBookForum- but it's really meant to be a temporary measure until you guys make an official page?

At any rate, I've got my fingers crossed and I hope you haven't forgotten about this.

Best regards,
JFQ

jessicafischerqueen: Ah forgot to mention- if and when you do make an official Chess Book page, it's possible to transfer the existing reviews and kibbutzing from the old <ChessBookForum> right?

I remember you were able to do this several years ago when you transferred all the posts on "My 61 Memorable Games" from <Mrs. Alekhine> forum over to the forum <Pinned Piece> made to host that world historical debate.

Can we please have a forum for the <40TH ANNIVERSARY BEER SHEVA RAPID 2013> tournament and the recent <ASIAN CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2013>?

Jun-22-13  The Last Straw: Hi <chessgames.com>

Whenever I visit a game page which has the only game between 2 players (let's call them A and B), which means I am viewing the only game in the database which has A playing against B, on the bar below the game diagram, it always says "X more games of player A" when B has more games. Then, I click on that "X more games of player A" link and it takes me to the player page of player B! Does anyone else have this problem, and if it's not only me, could you fix it? Thanks so much!

WannaBe: Yep, confirmed that. When I click on my game vs. Polgar, it say 996 more games of moi!!

Then I click on the link, it takes me to Polgar's games.

Nice to have been involved in a world historical debate. I was certainly a bit player to your star role, Ms. Alekhine, however.

Phony Benoni: H Bogart vs NN, 1933 has a link reading "860 more games of H Bogart", which goes to NN.

Or P Limbos vs H Bogart, 1951, with a link reading "12 more games of H Bogart" which directs to Paul Limbos.

chessgames.com: <jessicafischerqueen> <So I'm wondering if you are still planning to make the <ChessBookForum> an official page run by you (the admins)? ... At any rate, I've got my fingers crossed and I hope you haven't forgotten about this.> JFQ, we are still planning that and I'm glad you brought it up because honestly we've been embroiled with a different project.

If I recall correctly, in the simplest form, the idea with the Chess Book Forum was to make a page akin to the Biographer Bistro. Yet another page which is a designated discussion area for a specific realm of topics. That's very doable. The biggest hurdle, as trivial as it sounds, may actually be to put together some sort of documentation for the feature. Let me review the ChessbookForum chessforum and we'll see what we can do. If I have questions I will email you.

<If and when you do make an official Chess Book page, it's possible to transfer the existing reviews and kibbutzing from the old <ChessBookForum> right?> Absolutely. It would be a shame to lose what's there.

Again I thank you for getting this project off the ground, and in my opinion it's not fair that you should pay for us for hosting great feature like that. We'll ready to take this one over with your blessings.

chessgames.com: <quantum.conscious> <so , now i have mailed you and requested you to allow me as well to use the name calling certain users are using against me> So you are asking our permission to call other members names in violation of rule #3? No. Permission not granted.

If you believe that others have used hurtful language against you, please submit a whistle complaint on the specific post or posts which you find wrong. We'll take your complaints seriously. I know you emailed me some quotes from posts but if you could use the Whistle function on the specific page it would be appreciated and expedite your requests.

chessgames.com: So you mean, when you choose one player on the pulldown and no other search criteria? That feature has always been flaky. I've been meaning to rewrite it one of these days.

but 'Opposing player is' leads to http://www.chessgames.com/perl/ches....

Jun-24-13  MarkFinan: Hi,
i dont mean to be a pain asking questions that'l seem obvious once they've been answered, but can someone tell me how to open my forum again? Please? And can you tell me who paid for my membership because unless its Annie again, iv no idea! AJ? Was it you? I JOKE ;)
Jun-24-13  MarkFinan: Ok,
iv worked out how to do it, but for reasons i cant really disclose i cant get access to my laptop and my iphone's for a month or two, so when i tick the "activate forum" box it doesn't work on the phone im actually using! It also wont let me bet at the bookies or delete posts, because that also means ticking a box and it wont register with this phone! Can you please do it manually for me?

chessgames.com: <when i tick the "activate forum" box it doesn't work on the phone im actually using!> I've never heard of that problem before. I imagine your phone behaves that way on other sites with checkboxes, or not?
Jun-24-13  MarkFinan: No.
Its just this site but the only other websites i visit are facebook, chess dot con (no typo) and twitter, and iv never had that problem. Not to worry, its this phone, its a smartphone but its just not too smart!

ah! i saw it late.

you joking, right?

you tell a guy that may be he was being unfairly banned every time whereas others deserved to be banned and you would ensure that the guy would post in your site with dignity and then that guy gives you proof that others are calling him names with impunity whereas he himself is showing restraint and you say that you would act as speedily as the judicial system in india does, generally speaking.

oh, that is your way of saying that you want that person to leave! got it.

good bye, daniel

Jun-25-13  obgenix: on second thoughts - may be you thought i was trolling or may be you thought i was bonkers (as some children of lesser god here think) given the facade of weirdness my post was having.

and if you thought i was asking seriously , you would act speedily , but then again i had given you the facts/proof that some people calling me names repeatedly and it is me instead of them who getting banned even as i show restraint first, so how does it matter if my post sounded weird

bottom line is if a few people repeatedly call me names with impunity while i show restraint then either you 'fix' them or i 'fix' them - stalling like -"don't email because then i am forced to respond kind of ; just blow the whistle where no response is needed from me and i can even rub it in by saying blowing whistle works speedily" ....

if that is not how things work on your site , then 'you the law and most fair in universe' ; time to say 'goodie' , 'goodie' things - 'it was a pleasure to spend time on your site and so on' and ... good bye

Jun-25-13  brankat: <CG.com> <Daniel Freeman> I was about to send You an e-mail, but somehow I got nowhere with that <Evolution> screen. So, how do I go about it? Thank You.
