May-16-16  LucB: Hi ChessGames, I have a question: what needs to be done to get an Ilya Makoveev page started? Does it already exist and I'm just not typing his name correctly?

Thanks!

  Penguincw: < LucB >

(in case you haven't found it yet)

Would this be it?

Ilya Makoveev

BTW: I think it's just me, but if I copy and paste that above URL into the search box, it pulls up to this guy: Joseph Perl.

Is this like, normal?

chessgames.com: <LucB: Hi ChessGames, I have a question: what needs to be done to get an Ilya Makoveev page started?> The only games of his we know of are from the Moscow Open A (2016) which we just uploaded.

<Others> Don't take it personally if I delete your post shortly. This has gotten a bit out of hand.

chessgames.com: Penguincw, great timing, you found it mere seconds after I uploaded the Moscow Open.
May-16-16  LucB: <Penguin> and <chessgames>: thanks, that's brilliant!

GM Ben Finegold just did a YT video of 3 of his games, and they are wonderful (this kid is just 10 years old!). This is why I was asking: I was curious to see more.

May-17-16  WinKing: Below is the game Ben Finegold showcases in his video about Ilya Makoveev. The thing to rememmber is he was 8 years old when he played it.

Seeing as there are no wins shown in Ilya Makoveev's new forum this might be a nice game to add. We will surely be seeing more from this youngster in the future.

May-17-16  WinKing: Daniel I sent you some games of Ilya Makoveev via e-mail. Just so you know when you see them.
May-17-16  WinKing: For puzzle lovers the position in the Morozov-Makoveev game after 34.Bg2 is quite interesting. Black mates in 3. Would make a good Tuesday or Wednesday puzzle for chessgames.

May-17-16  LucB: <Alien Math> I've no problems with this poster, as he's been on my ignore list for a long time!

<WinKing>: thanks for submitting the moves of that last game from the Finegold video. Isn't that a cool mating motif?

May-17-16  Alien Math: is nothing sacred?

Two players have been disqualified for cheating - Ilya Makoveev (Russian Federation) who finished first with 9/11 points and Shubham Shukla (India) who took eighth place with 6.5 points. They will not be allowed to take part in the Final tournament. http://www.chessdom.com/16-players-...

May-17-16  User not found: Winking.. Qh4.. Rh3 and g3? All blacks moves are forced, right? I only had a quick glance but it looks good to me. Those bishops are lethal.
May-18-16  Alien Math: Daniel you are within your rights to suspend me for a time for my actions here, i want you to know that i was frustrated and made unsound remarks during that time,

it does not excuse me or free me from any comment i made at the time, i love this site but, sometimes, i frustrate, and yes it is only against one nation or nationality, thanks to a select few who do their best to provoke

offramp: <chesgames.com> There is so much trouble that begins at either The Kibitzer's Café or at that stupid Kenneth Rogoff page.

Ask people to give reasons to keep those pages open. When they can't give them, shut both pages down.

Annie K.: Reason: if the people who like that sort of thing didn't have those two outlets for those specific purposes, you'd have those kinds of interactions all over the site instead. Not an improvement.

The Rogoff page doesn't appear in the Recent Kibitzing. Improvement. :)

<Annie K> - < Reason: if the people who like that sort of thing didn't have those two outlets for those specific purposes, you'd have those kinds of interactions all over the site instead. Not an improvement.>

Oh, definitely not an improvement. A demolishment, probably. We should encourage the intellectually challenged to use their little outlets, so the rest of us can get on with the business of doing whatever it is that we do.

Even if what we do is nothing.

Domdaniel: <Alien Math> Well done for being the first to see that I. Makoveev was in trouble for allegedly cheating in Moscow.

I also note that your English is much more fluent now. Congratulations to you, and all in Alaska.

As for that archipelago in the Pacific: I know some very nice people who come from that place. Yet it seems that the ones on this site tend to be strange. Or difficult.
