stevemcd87: <OhioChessFan: I like the multiple live games, but I'd suggest a featured game each round that would be the default or first listed or something. The idea being to encourage more people of the people watching kibitzing on the same game page.>
Below is the logic that is currently written:
- When a user arrives at the live games, the code looks for a game that has started but not ended(this will bring all users that have just joined to the same room, until it ends), if there isn't one, we display the first game of the event.
- Above the <Kibitzer's Corner>, we generate a list of games that have comments.(In hopes it would encourage more users to join that room/game) - We're also working on generating a list of rooms with viewers watching(also helping with bring users together🤞)
- And, last but not least, we would like to add stockfish evaluations(or similar games).
Feel free to make any suggestions.

<MissScarlett: Here are the recent tournaments added: New Tournaments
When one appreciates just how many rated events there are (especially as things have largely returned to normal post-Covid), <tga>'s keeping up to date would be more akin to opening the floodgates. So I've no problem with <cg.com> continuing to be selective, but the choice of which events to upload seem fairly arbitrary. Does <stevemcd> alone decide this?>

I suppose I added a few events I usually wouldn't have. It was mainly to do preliminary testing for the live games.
I figured any games/events with a GM or IM(>2300) playing could be considered.
We should probably wait to open the flood gates though. I still have a list of potential duplicate players I have to review.
Would you like to recommend some guidelines?

<Hi <steve>, one odd thing at the live games is after I kibitz, my comment stays in the kibitz box (even when I switch games), and I have to delete it before posting again.>
It'll be fixed for tomorrow's event. Thanks for joining

Jul-15-22  stone free or die: A few quick points -
1. Does <Suzz> think <GW> and <BP> are two different users or not?!

2. When is <Messiah> going to learn the proper way to link to a specific post, i.e. one that works no matter the ignore list?

3. Why not open the floodgates?

Just to expound on #3 - if TWIC is used as the source the PGN is cleaned up, and the FIDE id's are there, which should eliminate any duplicate issues shouldn't it?

4. <stone free or die>'s shorthand is <stone free> so as not to be confused with <stonehenge>'s familial <stone>.

I wouldn't mind something showing how many people are watching, but not a big deal.

<- And, last but not least, we would like to add stockfish evaluations(or similar games). Feel free to make any suggestions.>

Like it, although I'd prefer the individual be able to click on an engine link with that game, just like every typical game in the database. Some people, including me, don't want an engine eval in front of us when discussing games. Available if we want it? Sure. But default in front of me? No thanks. And I realize you may mean that anyway.

Care to hazard a ballpark number estimate what that number would be?

Open Defence: Is it possible to ignore player pages? like e.g. the Rogoff page so it doesnt come in one's feed?
Jul-18-22  George Wallace: < Open Defence: Is it possible to ignore player pages? like e.g. the Rogoff page...>

Yes.

What you do is, when you go to the Recent Kibitzing page, you just instantly scroll past the <rogoff page> and ignore it.

Problem solved.
