As part of our premium membership benefits, we provide unrestricted site access to our members, even if they are using a VPN.>

Is that new? I couldn't access the site a couple of months ago using a VPN.>

I am using a VPN too, but if I am logged in, then I can access the site regardless of am I b& or not.

Aug-05-23  Messiah: Let me add: as a CISSP I am expected to know this-and-that about IT security, and I fail to understand how the blockage of VPN connections improve the resilience of the site. Or how the plaintext stored passwords bring benefit. But let me stop here, as I am already on the verge of getting b&.

Aug-07-23  Chesschronicle22: <Messiah>,let me explain abour VPN that i know, In terms of speed, your VPN can only be as fast as your internet connection. In fact, slight drops of around 10-20% in speed are absolutely normal when using a VPNsince their main priority should always be security and privacy.
Aug-07-23  Chesschronicle22: In some cases, «Government Censorship»
Governments sometimes do not want their citizens to access certain websites, so they block these sites. With a VPN, it looks like your IP address is outside the country, making your access look legitimate. To counteract this, some governments block VPNs. In a "counter-reunderstanding" (not a word), some sites might block VPNs because of such
Aug-07-23  Chesschronicle22: This location-based blocking is done to honour licensing contracts as well as boost profits. Since VPNs are often used to bypass geo-blocking, streaming sites have taken to blocking VPNs to ensure that no users are causing them to break their contracts.
