 | | Tabanus: <Boomie> Copying error, sorry. 2007 now. |
Jan-16-20
 | | Check It Out: CG website was down for at least a 1/2 hour from about 1:40 PM today, routine maintenance I suspect. |
Jan-16-20
 | | OhioChessFan: At least from 4:10 to 5:10 PM, CGC time. |
| Jan-23-20 | | Thief: <chessgames.com> I noticed that this site just got a padlock next to its URL recently. Thanks for securing the website! We can all feel a little bit safer now. |
Jan-24-20
 | | chessgames.com: Voting for tomorrow's live relay game choice now open on the tournament page Tata Steel Masters (2020). :) |
Jan-24-20
 | | Annie K.: ... and closed. :) |
Feb-18-20
 | | offramp: Was I the only one who received Error 500 for chessgames.com all day? |
Feb-18-20
 | | OhioChessFan: I can vouch for a few hours of it. |
Feb-18-20
 | | moronovich: <offramp: Was I the only one who received Error 500 for chessgames.com all day?> Nope.Me too. |
Feb-18-20
 | | WannaBe: I had issues in the morning, around 6:30AM Pacific... Internal Server Error. |
Mar-01-20
 | | WannaBe: Hey, we are back, this post time stamped at 3:40PM Pacific... |
Mar-01-20
 | | Susan Freeman: Sorry, everyone. We had ISP issues. There was nothing we could do. It was across the servers. Sorry for the inconvenience. We are back! |
Mar-01-20
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<MannBee> I had no idea you lived in the Pacific Ocean! Where is your neighborhood? Are you anywhere near the other cg.com member who lives in the Pacific Ocean? Actually it's more than that. He *is* part of the ocean. The deepest part, as a matter of fact: the dread Mariano Sana trench, home of many shipwrecks and Lovecraftian sea beings. |
| Mar-01-20 | | Boomie: <Lovecraftian sea beings> The outage was caused by the return of the Elder Beings who now proclaim their supremacy. Rise Great Cthulhu!
Rise Yog-Sosoth! |
| Mar-01-20 | | Tiggler: <Diademas: Congratulations to all of us on CG's renaissance.> Still on life support, though. Not what it once was. |
Mar-02-20
 | | Check It Out: We've all invested what we have in to Chessgames, our beloved site. It's demise is only natural, though not yet upon us. Perhaps it will live on beyond us, who knows. In the end, long live CG! |
Mar-05-20
 | | Check It Out: God, what poetic drivel. Sorry about that folks. On another subject, I'm not sure if it was intentional, but the issue with the mobile platform ads being directly under the chessboard arrow functions, leading to multiple unwanted lower mortgage rates, seems to have been cleared up. The ad is now below the pgn, where it supposedly belongs. Thanks, CG! |

Mar-06-20
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Good Evening>
I am repeatedly getting the "server overload" message on the Opening Explorer. I don't get it on any other page. But I get it every single time I am working with the Opening Explorer. |
Mar-06-20
 | | Annie K.: <Jess> works fine for me - maybe you caught it at a bad time? ;) Do you still have a problem with it? Anybody else? |
Mar-07-20
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Annie> No today was fine. I am hoping it has been a temporary error, or perhaps a large number of people are using the <Opening Explorer> at certain times. For me, it is the most useful page on cg.com. |
| Mar-09-20 | | Boomie: <CG> Although the tournament just ended, you may consider adding the games of <Nutcracker Battle of the Generations 2020>. This Geezer vs Munchkin venture is quite interesting and includes games of Gelfand, Shirov, and others. |
Mar-09-20
 | | Annie K.: I've been looking at it, but I'll wait until I can get it from TWIC - it's not there yet. I just got the pgn for the latest round of the Lausanne WGP from another source (the TWIC pgn download page was down for a bit), and it was a total pain to clean up. :s |
Mar-13-20
 | | MissScarlett: Morphy vs H Knott, 1859 [analysis] Computer analysis of odds games apparently ignores the odds! |
Mar-13-20
 | | Annie K.: Hmm, that's interesting. Guess computer analysis was never meant to be applied to odds games. Something to remember for when we get around to working on Stockfish. |
Mar-13-20
 | | MissScarlett: If you use the engine option on individual positions, it does recognise the missing piece(s), just not in whole game mode. What's being worked on at the moment then? |
