PS - The Tunguska story was brought to my attention by an article I read in a recent issue of Scientific American. There had always been some controversy about what exactly hit us since the object was never found (and researchers couldn't examine the area until about 20 years later). Recently, some Italian researchers believe they have figured out that the object lies at the bottom of a strange funnel-shaped lake (Lake Cheko) -- and in fact that this lake was created by the impact.
