May-17-12  Eyal: <Jess> As a Shipov fan (at least from the times he was known to us only through google translations....), I think you'll enjoy http://www.chessintranslation.com/2...: it's about a documentary video where Shipov is interviewed in his apartment during (!) his live commentary on game 2 of the match. The video is in Russian, but quite a lot of English translation is provided.

One quote:

Potemkin [the interviewer]: I'll share a secret with you. I don't know if you go onto the internet or not...…

Shipov [who's in the process of sipping coffee]: I almost choked! Do I go onto the internet?? I don't leave it. I go to sleep at night and I'm still on the internet.

May-17-12  Albertan: Jessica an interesting new article entitled, "Chess in India: Why is it on the rise?" written by Rajini Vaidyanathan has been published at the BBC News Magazine website:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-...

I hope you and everyone else finds this article interesting.

jessicafischerqueen: <TheFocus> I see you have deleted every one of your <Fischer> games collections?

This is an act of almost unbelievable selfishness and petulance on your part.

ARE YOU FIVE YEARS OLD? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?

Unbelievable. You are a wreck of a "man."

Beneath contempt.

jessicafischerqueen: <TheFocus> You know the first time you threatened to delete your Fischer games collections- last year- I considered manually reproducing them myself.

But I didn't, out of respect for you.

I can see now that you are not worthy of any respect. You are a man utterly without honor. You have no respect for chess, chess history, or chess history fans.

You are scum.

May-18-12  Thanh Phan: <jessicafischerqueen> Agreed on the removal of the games collections of Fischer, a loss for the rest of us

The video to jpg converter is great, it's what I was searching for since it works well and is simple. Many thanks :)

jessicafischerqueen: <Thanh> yes I'm glad you like it. You know about downloads so you know not to click "custom install (recommended)" before reading what you actually download. The Jpg converter I linked tries to download toolbars and all kinds of AIDS that tries to stay invisible on your computer, and is almost impossible to delete fully. I had to unclick six boxes to avoid this. And even then the program puts a bookmark on your desktop for some AIDS facebook site.

Facebook is like cancer.

Also, the "ask" toolbar and the "yahoo" toolbar and the "bounjour" are some of the hardest programs to get off a computer. Once you download them (they always piggyback on other apps), they don't show up in the program list in Control Panel. So even if you delete the app the cancer toolbars stay on your computer, doing GHOD knows what.

I hope Daniel has the Fischer games collections data stored somewhere. I emailed him today to find out.

I don't mind reconstructing all the deleted collections, but I need to know which games were in each one.

Also, <Lady Gaga> sucks.

I think that's enough to get off my chest for one day.

May-18-12  Thanh Phan: <jessicafischerqueen> Find when attempt the install, many selections to not select, so many that I canceled the install then ran a search for more info before installing.

That was why it took me a while to respond and offer a thanks for the video to jpg converter link

May-18-12  I play the Fred: <Jay>, maybe the Internet Wayback Machine can help you retrieve the collections: www.archive.org

While you're there, see if you can't find the mojo this place used to have. I can't put my finger on it, but someone sure cranked up the suck around here lately.

May-18-12  twinlark: <Jess>

Treat Max Euwe as a draft at this stage, and let me know on my forum or via emu of the changes that should be made. I've let Niels know as well.

May-18-12  twinlark: Also a <very> interesting snippet excavated from the Euwe player pages of info about the Alekhine-Capablanca contratemps in respect of their negotiations/argument about the rematch: Alexander Alekhine
May-18-12  MarkFinan: Jess... It was his last act of childish defiance! Like a guilty man standing In the dock, taking his co-accused down with him..

He posted In my forum a few week ago that he closed down his forum as he was deleting posts, and his game collections, but I thought nothing of It!

I didn't realise how Important they were to you, or I would have warned you...

Plus, as with his yo-yo of a forum, I thought that once he changed his mind he could put the collections back up again?

So yes... Extremely childish for a man who goes round posting that he "kicks people's butts"..

When the going gets tough, TheFocus does one!!!!

He's still around betting at the chessbookies, but he'll be too much of a coward to show his face now...

Sorry, I should have warned you, but I genuinely didn't know he couldn't re-post them....

jessicafischerqueen: <Mr. Owls> really! That is FANTASTIC.

Would you mind rebuilding them so I can repost them in my forum? Or is there a way you can pass them to me via email or a weblink, and then I can rebuild and repost them?

jessicafischerqueen: <Hanh> offer thanks for your help= luckily <Switch> saved the day and now I can start rebuilding all the lost Fischer collections.

More happy days for us!

May-19-12  playground player: <Jessicafischerqueen> What I know about Facebook wouldn't fill a Facebook page, but I agree with you about Lady Gaga. But what I really came here for was to make an important announcement:

<Mrs. PGP> has made her first video! It features our cats, and I'll try to get her to send it to you. She's using something called <Animoto.> Maybe it's Japanese?

May-19-12  playground player: <Jessicafischerqueen> She won't let me send it to you! She says, "That'd be like showing your kid's kindergarten drawings to Rembrandt."

I can't budge her out of that position; but it least it shows we have a high opinion of your work.

Annie K.: <twinlark> pardon me, but I thought *I* was supposed to be the Transylvanian around here?! ;p

<Jess> me is back online - I'll look into some TOP SECRET thingies and send you a note sometime in the near future. :)

Our <Switch> is worth his weight in gold, eh? Possibly even in platinum, that might depend on the weight though. :D

Well yes, but I'm a Transylvanian twice removed. Once by ancestry and once from the Blood Drive.
