I don't even want to think of where that one came from.

Jan-08-13  hms123: <jess> You googled those with a <free jess engine>, didn't you? There's no other way you could have gotten them right.

Maybe we should start a <free jess> movement so that you could say what think? Don't you already do that?

Jan-08-13  hms123: <jess>

Ripped from the headlines:

<Lottery winner's cyanide death being investigated>

Do you think there is any reason to be suspicious? Probably not. Just my imagination.

OhioChessFan: I read that yesterday, and haven't stopped Synthetic Metaphysical Halitosing since. I was so very impressed with the authorities who figured this out, after pleadings from the deceased's family.

OhioChessFan: This is interesting reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulip_...

I am reminded of noted philosopher Homer Simpson, who opined that all the great things in life end in teria or mania.

jessicafischerqueen: I knew you were selling bulbs on the internet.

This is the first thing I've been right about in six months!

But how on earth did you come up with a web page that connected "Teapot Dome Scandal," which was about a bubble, with an essay on the "Bulb bubble" after I accused you of running a bulb business?

I just randomly typed in "Teapot Dome Scandal."

I don't think this can be explained in non-blue type.

jessicafischerqueen: <H>, <Ohio> yes the authorities don't come off well in that saga. It appears they can't do any better than the business plan devised by the "Underpants Gnomes" on Southpark, which runs something like this:

Step One: Man murdered one day after winning lottery

Step Two: Someone will inherit his estate

Step Three: ?

Step Four: Profit!

Jan-08-13  Travis Bickle: Jess this song was the opening track on the U.K. version of The Beatles Rubber Soul album for EMI but it was scratched from the Capitol U.S. version for the following song. At that time in America Dylan & The Byrds were very popular with their folk sound so Capitol wanted to have The Beatles album to sound more folky as well.

jessicafischerqueen: <Trombone> I guess this was the era before Capitol could guess that the Beatles would arrive to mobs already waiting for them at the airport.

I prefer the U.S track, but not necessarily because it's folkier, but because I never liked the lyrics to "drive my car."

Then Dylan would do the turnaround in England, but playing smaller venues than the Beatles played in their first American tour.

Is that right? When did the Beatles first land in America?

Jan-09-13  Travis Bickle: Jess The Beatles already were world wide superstars. In 1965 The Beatles were on their second world tour. Other songs were omitted and/or replaced on Rubber Soul also. It just comes down to Americans & U.K. fans have a somewhat different taste in some music. Here's the tracks on the U.K. version of Rubber Soul.

1. "Drive My Car"
2. "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)"
3. "You Won't See Me"
4. "Nowhere Man"
5. "Think for Yourself"
6. "The Word"
7. "Michelle"

side 2

1. "What Goes On"
2. "Girl"
3. "I'm Looking Through You"
4. "In My Life"
5. "Wait"
6. "If I Needed Someone"
7. "Run for Your Life"

Jan-09-13  Travis Bickle: While Nowhere Man was a number 1 single in the U.S. It wasn't on the the album. Also the Ringo Starr throw away song What Goes On was cut from the U.S. release along with George's If I Needed Someone. While two of these three songs are good Beatle tracks I like The U.S. version better.

You're resident Beatles expert,
Travis ; P

Here's The U.S. release

1. "I've Just Seen a Face"
2. "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)"
3. "You Won't See Me"
4. "Think for Yourself"
5. "The Word"
6. "Michelle"

1. "It's Only Love"
2. "Girl"
3. "I'm Looking Through You"
4. "In My Life"
5. "Wait"
6. "Run for Your Life"

Jan-09-13  Travis Bickle: Hiya Jess, You can delete my LARGE SPACE of Beatles information if you like. ; P

P.S. I'm curious as to why you don't think 'I've Just Seen A Face' isn't folky. It's not in the traditional sense but it has acoustic guitars & is compared to the pop sounded electric Drive My Car.

Your Loyal Servent,
Mark Antony ; P

jessicafischerqueen: <tbone> It's folky for sure. My tortured syntax is the culprit here.

By saying "Not necessarily because it's more folkier" I meant it's folky, but that wasn't the main reason I like the song more than "Drive my Car."

I love "I've Just Seen a Face" and I'm not a fan of the "Drive my Car" song.

Btw have you ever considered "Breakin' 2: Electronic Boogaloo" as a forum title?

I think that might be a real movie. Kind of like a Blacksploitation movie for the Disco Era.

Re Two China's I did'nt get back to ya ..

Well there is the PRC and the ROC ..

The ROC is Taiwan.. What's left of the Chinese nationalist forces which fought and resisted Japan in the Sino Jap war ... They lost the resulting civil war and ended up in Taiwan..

The PRC is the result of the Chinese communist forces winning the civil war because they kept their powder dry during the Japanese invasion, and waited whilst the Chinese 'nationalists' were weakened taking on the Japs ..

And so you have two 'China's' ...

Footnote.. China is only now recognising the valour and sacrifices the ROC forces made in fighting the Japanese .. Previously communist party PRC rhetoric and propaganda had themselves making all the sacrifices..... It's now well documented they actually kept out of it for political reasons.

QUESTION: Why is she dressed like a prostitute?

With regard to the "other thing," his current "no paying for preemy" nicely complements his history of massive selfishness at this site.

Can't say I'm happy to see him branching out from his mental illness about the legendary <AJ Foyt> to start slagging <Travis> on a public forum for no reason other than to cause trouble and vent his malevolent spleen. Again.

QUESTION: Just how appalling does a man need to be so you would actually choose <AJ> over him?

ANSWER: Really, really appalling.
