Sep-17-11  Pyke: Hi <Jessica>,

as I "ran" into you today, I just remembered I wanted to ask you something for some time now.

Since you're a movie aficionado, I wondered: Are you aware of the movie critics at www.redlettermedia.com?

Most probably you're aware of them, but just in case ... I thought it's curious that they haven't been mentioned by anyone on here.

I think they're doing a great job, especially with the longer Plinkett reviews on Star Trek and StarWars. They certainly have a "strong" opinion on those.

Anyways, if you don't know I hope you enjoy them.

Take care
Pyke

Sep-17-11  Shams: <OCF><I don't know if the Brits talk like this in real life, but in movies and novels I always appreciated phrases like "This is really quite intolerable".>

It was GM Short I believe who first clued me in to the fact that 'quite' means roughly the opposite in British English that it does in American English.

At least they dropped their funky billion, though.

Sep-18-11  WBP: <Jess> I LOVED the Rossolimo bio! Didn't know he was such an attacking and original player. Job well done, indeed.

Is your email address stil the same? I have a short story I'd love to send you, a satire on academia and its obsessions, jealousies, and eccentricities. (The New Yorker just rejected it, but appended a very positive and encouraging hand-written note to the standard rejection slip. Gonna send it off to McSweeney's, now, which is currently considering another story of mine called "Thoreau in Vegas.") My email's still the same, so if yours has changed, you can email me with the new one.

  jessicafischerqueen: <perfidious> Edward G. Robinson!

Good call. My favorite line from him is "Cincinatti Kid" when he says to Steve McQueen:

"You're good kid, but as long as I'm around, you're second best."

Sep-19-11  WBP: <Jess> I just sent you an <<emu>>, as I believe you're fond of calling it, with the story attached. Let me know if you can download it...

So, Hotmail's sending out Viagra ads, huh. Guess that's why they're such stiff competition for the US Poastal service...

Sep-19-11  playground player: <Jessicafischerqueen> Well, I lost that big game. A great big filling fell out on Friday night, just as the game was entering its climax, and I went downhill from there. I find it really quite intolerable when that happens. I mean, it's a bloody great hole in my mouth, isn't it? *sigh*

Wow wonderful music, thanks Jessicafischerqueen.

No i am not familar with african originated singers/ musicans/componists names but i love all i hear of their art. But that said, i know african music pretty much is the base for all the rest of music created world around. It's easy to understand why listening to some of the modern recordings.

Pst Jessica can u hear the musical spirit of Bob Marley in the video u posted?:).

Actually, I only asked once on my Forum, saw <JFQ>'s reason about the <AJ>-bashing, and let it go. The next day, I saw I was off Ignore on her page.

Sep-20-11  TheFocus: <jess> I was wondering if you would do me a favor. On April 2, I posted that <Lennonfan> poem in your Forum. I was hoping you would delete it. It is ugly and not worthy of polluting your Forum.

Thanks in advance.

Just wondering.

4.9 C, 6.6 C and 8.8! which sure beats Edmonton. I hope someone forces me to move to Burnaby!! :)
