 | | moronovich: JUst deletedmy own post and dont know w
hat happened )):
So short version glad to hear you are doing fine-same here and enjoying wife is starting her 3 weeks holiday. And yes it is a crazy and violent world we live in some times. My thoughts and feelingg are with the friends and families hit by the terror and tragedy. And perhaps the most important thing we can do now is living dayly life so fearless as possible and dont give in to those lunatics. And could you expand on your novel work ? It sounds interesting. So all the best in this shorter version
and stay cool too ! |
|
| Jul-17-16 | | virginmind: Just a short notice: I've finished reading two novels by Murakami (not writing/working on them) and just began reading a third one (it's the last from the Rat cycle) - an author I very much like.
I wish your wife will fully enjoy her 3 weeks holiday. Bye! |
|
Jul-19-16
 | | moronovich: Hi !
Oh,I thought YOU were the writer :)
And yes thank you,my wife enjoys her holiday very much and I should thank you for your regard.(her husbond also enjoy her condition:)We just have had a beatiful trip today. And you and your wife, any summer plans/wishes !? Carlsen is just incredible,nést pas.
First round loss(to boot with the white pieces)and a few hours later with a solid lead, even with a draw today vs his closest rival.Karjakin certainly(seemingly)has lot of work to do before november. Summer in the more classic sense is about to arrive.Perhaps just a short visit and a warm kiss before the autumn
sets in....No,but it sounded a little smart ;)
Take care and enjoy, with all my best wishes.

| Jul-20-16 | | virginmind: Hi, dizziness again this morning but very tollerable. We had a couple cooler days but, like you said, warmth is about to regain its place. Heh, there was a time when I used to write novels but those days are way back. I'm about to finish A wild sheep chase and it's still a far cry from Kafka on the shore. Haven't followed much chess lately, only kept track of the results. I did play on playchess.com though. Such a marvelous world and time spending opportunity this hobby. I wonder who created it. I mean, there must have been a certain guy who, once upon a time, decided that this piece looks like a knight and moves in the shape of an L etc. and traced the general rules. Who was that guy? How long did he live? Did he/she have the slightest idea of the destiny of his invention? Yeah, maybe it was a she, who knows... Auguri! |
|
Jul-20-16
 | | moronovich: <Yeah, maybe it was a she, who knows...> She is called Caissa :)And has seduced many good (wo)men... And with the warmth comes the mosquitos, sometimes.A gang of 3-4 attacked me tonight and just now have I caught up with the lack of energy(1800 o´clock).Small innocent(?)Grrr, creatures which are difficult to spot. But the attack like kamikaze pilots... Hope your dizzyness will go away or at least being something you can live with for the moment, which it fortunately sounds like. And enerving that after 10 years in this field I can´not come up with something that could help you.. Same story here with chess.Perhaps when autum and winter comes it will be closer to the heart...But if/when it is almost always a lot of draws and computerlines and Carlsen winning and winning I am not so shure. We shall see. Wife is watching a certain Bruce Springsteen tonight ! Take care so long and all the best !

 | | moronovich: Hi <virginmind> !
Hope everything is ok with you??!
Here summer prevails and it has been nice to have the daily company of my wife and still one week to go !
Basicly all is fine here and I send you all my best wishes! Ciao. |
|
| Jul-31-16 | | virginmind: Hi <moronovich>, I'm sorry I've let this pause without a word, nothing much happened here apart from me reading a lot of Murakami. Finished 'A wild sheep chase' and also read 'Danse, danse, danse' to finish the "Rat" series. Last night started 'The wind-up bird chronicle' which so far looks extremely cool. I'm fine, with the usual headaches and the ocasional dizziness (this morning another one, which turned into a headache, and I seem to notice a pattern lately) and the weather is very warm, all July has been sunny and 25-31 Celsius, and tomorrow we're expecting a peak of 36 here in Iasi, while in southern Romania it will go up to 38-39 Celsius, oops. Fortunately though, after Monday thunder storms all over the country, with a corresponding decrease in temperature. It's still great summer time, lucky me! Gotta love this freedom feeling :) I'm glad to see you and your wife are ok and that you are enjoying spending together each day due to her vacation time. Sinquefield Cup is about to start in a few days with very strong field (no Carlsen though), however as you may know Kramnik will not participate due to health problems. And it's still a beautiful life, I'm sure you will agree :) Bye. |
|
Jul-31-16
 | | moronovich: Hola!

The cod, potatoes and mustardsauce is waiting and I send you all the best and a hello to your wife, please ! Any plans for the remaining summer ?

| Aug-05-16 | | virginmind: Yes, both Sinquefield and the Olympics starting today are taking place on the continent Vespucci gave his name long time ago, so most of the live drama will happen a bit late during the night for those watching from the Old continent... For the beginning of Sept. we're plannind a trip to a Bulgarian seaside resort, as August(and July) are too hot&crowded&expensive for us, holiday-wise. I wanted to send you a long game I played (and won) last night but upon checkin with Fritz I got desponded descovering my errors - both in missed quick wins and a blunder of mine which my opponent failed to exploit, as probably scared by a ghost - and changed my mind:) I hope an excellent weekend is shaping up for you! |

 | | moronovich: <I hope an excellent weekend is shaping up for you!> Thank you,I´ll give it my best, which is required, due to extra dizzyness. But looking forward to <Sinquefield> as it feels like a long time seeing the the young lions.Excellent coverage they normally have! And hopefully you will be able to get the main action, though 21.00 romanian time is rather late.. Your vacation plans sound great and I hope you will succeed! <I wanted to send you a long game I played (and won) last night but upon checkin with Fritz I got desponded descovering my errors - both in missed quick wins and a blunder of mine which my opponent failed to exploit, as probably scared by a ghost - and changed my mind:)> I know the feeling :If that is any comfort !?...But feel free to post. But due to dizziness my response may take some time. Hope the old body allows me today going to the tivoli with wify. See you around and all the best. |

| Aug-05-16 | | virginmind: Sorry to hear that dizziness is bothering you again. I do hope you have the means to keep it under control and even get rid of it - at least temporarily. Going to Tivoli in Italy, that's great! i wish you two will thoroughly enjoy this trip. 9 pm in Romania is a bit late indeed for Sinquefield games, but I guess I'll have to live with it. I do hope you have the means to keep it under control and even get rid of it - at least temporarily.> Thanks. It has been better today and just walking a bit freely around is improvement...And sorry for perhaps misinforming, but it was "Tivoli",an amusement park only 16-17 kilometers away and we had a very nice time :) Will be back to see your game in some days and in the meantime only 40 minuttes to Sinquefield. Aloha ! |

Aug-07-16
 | | moronovich: Good sunday <viginmind>! Sinquefield Cup has started and we have a surprising lead, but many rounds to go and too early to say anything definite. But nice to watch them play again, though yesterday the pints from the afternoon was felt and had to leave the party early:)It was a very pleasant afternoon we had with good friends, husband and wife,we have known for almost 20 years now.And I had the touching experience that the wife was very insisting(in a loving way)to ask deeper into my dizzyness, which is almost impossible to describe. Not to mention the impact on my daily life. But we managed to understand each other.Great! So all is fine here, the Olympics have started. There are always some interesting stuff to watch... Take care and see you around and
hopefully you have had a fine weekend!? |
|
| Aug-07-16 | | virginmind: Congratulations for such a fine weekend which included meeting with your friends! My weekend has been uneventful but I like it this way. I too talked over internet with a friend whom I've known for about 10 years, we exchanged pictures from our trips this summer. My folks left this morning for a vacation in the mountains. Hadn't watched as yet anything from the Olumpiad but will do it soon. Played a couple of chess games over the net and continued to read on yet another novel by Murakami - this one I think it's his longest, it's called The Chronicle of the Wind-Up Bird. It's also one of the weirdest novels I've ever read.
Oh and also played some Grid 2 races with my nephew :) Ciao and an excellent rest of Sunday! |

Aug-08-16
 | | moronovich: Hi !
Nice game from the 4th of August. You really took advantage of your strong knight on f4!And after the a5push it was up to your technique which you showed in an effective way.Did you consider 7-Bf5 (to prevent e3-e4)?.The control over e4 and the attacking possibilities in the g-file should more than compensate for the doubled f-pawns(if Bd3xBf5).After 29.g5-Qd6 looks killing to me.
Hah,and when I found the board today there was a mate on f7.One of yours:)So you see,I dont play these days.
<virginmind: Congratulations for such a fine weekend which included meeting with your friends!> Thank you!And also the sunday was fine and today...You also sound like having a good time. And it must be great to have Bulgaria to look forward to !? Classic late summer weather today and it is my favourite.High sky and sun and wind. And my dear wife has had a fine start after the vacation is over. She likes her working place very much. See you around and maybe at Sinquefield tonight !
Hasta la vista (which I dont know what means, but it feels cool.Like being 19 again;) |
|
| Aug-08-16 | | virginmind: Hi, indeed I missed (among others)29...Qd5 which would have meant game over for him. I see you've forgiven me for my 46...Nd3 blunder - that's when I said he offered back the blunder by not taking it, probably fearing ghosts like my advancing e pawn and doubled rooks...Anyhow, I honestly don't see the point of 7...Bf5 - how would that have prevented e3-e4? I've watched a bit of judo and women gymnastics last night on the Olympiad. Weather's fine but rain and low temperatures will break in on Tuesday. Wife just gone to the British council library to return some books/magazines/movies. It's a quiet summer afternoon, as you said. Did some shopping today at a supermarket and while waiting in line at the cashier I've noticed her doing a lot of stuff other than she was supposed to do (talking to the phone, speaking with the buyer in front of her etc) and that annoyed me to some extent. Is this a sign of aging - getting nervous over stuff, which previously didn't happen? It's not just the cashier, I've noticed other small things, lately, which tend to bother me if they dont work as they're supposed to - which, again, was not the case in the past. It may look funny to you, but sort of bringing uneasiness to me: noticing signs of aging, although I keep feeling younger than my age. But enough with complaining, just look at the sky: what a glorious day! Actually, I'm a very lucky guy (I'm not kidding). For now, back to Murakami and later in the evening some more sports in Rio. Oh, forgot about Sinquefield:) Looks like some very fine games, at least in the first two rounds. 'Hasta la vista' is, of course: see you later!:) Although, strange resemblance with the Romanian: 'asta e viata' - which translates to: such is life... |
|
Aug-08-16
 | | moronovich: Sorry, my bad 7-Bf5 is ok,but doesn´t prevent e4.Glad I am not in St.Louis :) About todays events :
Perhaps your level of perception/tolerance has changed a bit since the dizziness has occured ...!? Perhaps it reminds of how my percetion works sometimes due to dizzyness.Kind of preferring something that I know compared to something were the lines are a bit blured.Just a bit.E.g.I prefer brighter rooms with comfortable space that the opposite.Silence to music. But I also now it is difficult to compare, espcially if it is 1:1. <It may look funny to you, but sort of bringing uneasiness to me: noticing signs of aging, although I keep feeling younger than my age.> Not the slightest.Au contraire. Now I must finish cooking:Homemade tuna salad, homebrought shrimpsalad, garlic bread and soft boiled eggs. See you again and all the best ! Meet me in St Louis --- Later on I will try to describe my dizziness,if possible.
And feel free to do the same,if you feel the need. |
|
Aug-10-16
 | | moronovich: Good evening !
A fine day.Starting with something in the throat,(it IS getting cooler during the nights;),but fortunately it cleared during the day.Still the good weather with wind and sunshine. The sun is so clear and if I were a painter it would be tempting to paint.. But Topalov acts like an artist who has forgotten his birthday certificate.I hope he will bring home the tournament victory. Not these almost teenagers everytime :) Actually my dizziness is not dizziness in the clinical sense, but in lack of a better word...No one doesnt really knows what it is,but it resembles. And even now with a lot of energy it is not posssible to use the right words to decribe it.Even in Danish. But perhaps some day. But as you say:Life is beautifull.
And I am very gratefull, also that there is something called freedom of choice which is not only a philisopical construction, but an energy in action. For now I send you all the best wishes
and perhaps see you soon !? |
|
| Aug-11-16 | | virginmind: Hi, in my case, most of the times it's tollerable, I can walk and move normally, drive etc. Extremely rarely it's stronger, so for example I prefer not to drive and not even to walk outside. I can explain it by a lack of ballance, both in my mind and in body movements. And only once it happened (in Salzburg) that it started slowly and it continued to grow for a few hours and it didn't stop getting stronger, to the point that I began to experience visual wide circular movements, at first barely perceptible, but after some time they got really strong - I was actually seeing everything going round and round. That accompanied by feeling of extreme nausea and cold sweat. I simply couldn't move at all, without acutely worsening the dizzines and visual vertigo. That's when I got really scared and told my wife to call the ambulance, as I had no idea what it could be and how worse it could got. But that was only once. I havent done anything particular during that day, before the symptoms started. Then at the hospital, after a few vision checks with a pair of googles and special head and body movements prompted by the doctor, the dizziness lowered considerably, so I could walk at home. Then she told me it's a symptom related to the internal ear malfunctioning, which generaly has no known causes and its incurable. She told me to repeat those movements (while in bed) at home for a few days, in order to prevent the acute (paroxystic) vertigo to reappear, at least for some time. I take it this is not your case, is it?
Yeah, Topalov did a nice jump to the sole leader. And I think Denmark will play today at the olympiad, but I don't remember against whom and if it's handball or basketball. Anyway, not against Romania. Take care. |

 | | moronovich: Hi !
That was a really nasty experience you had before the ambulance arrived. And thankfully you haven´t experienced it again and to boot you have got helpfull excercices, which i wish I also have had.I sincerely hope you will be spared for another experience like that one. <I take it this is not your case, is it?> You are right it isn´t,though I have been through something simular years ago,but not so fierce as yours.
I still have the hope and search, but when I dont know what it is called, then.. Even my acupuncturist has no clue or just a small one. But spirits are fine and while I am enjoying my wifes homecomming after a tough day at the office,it is a nice feeling that Sinquefield is glooming at the close horizon. And a little handball too,vs Croatia. All the best and see you around !
It is very late in Romania when they finish in St Louis.Do you have the time and energy to follow it all/sometimes ? |
|
| Aug-12-16 | | virginmind: I'd have time to follow them late at night, but I fall asleep so probably low on energy. Rain and dropped temperatures since yesterday here. My parents returned from their short vacation in the mountains, and they had a very good time. So's winning against Topalov, grabbing first place, interesting development. And Romanian women sword team has qualified in the final, after beating Russia, also our doubles tennis team goes to the final after beating an American team. In the final they will meet Nadal, as part of the Spanish doubles team. Just sent 200 euros to the hospital in Salzburg as payment for the consultation received there. Let's see now if my travel insurance will reinburse that. All is well otherwise and hope for you the same! |
|
| Aug-12-16 | | virginmind: And the sword women team got the gold, after beating China in the final! |

 | | moronovich: Hi and good evening !
Just returned after a good afternoon with JWH.And as always with magic moments. Not planned ,but spontaneus. While wife nursed her condition. So now the penultimate round, with everything wide open and hopefully they will not invite us to 5 draws again...!? I sinceryly wish the computers have not been invented. Hopefully you will have your money back, but you never know with these insureance companies(: Wish the best for your weekend and see you down/up the road ! Now to Sinquefield.A very sympathic setup with Yasser and the others in IMO. |
