Nov-25-22 | | diceman: <Chessgames Enhancements:> When a new tournament is posted, I would like the ability to see what openings were played. A while back (before you were here) I brought up the idea of using the Repertoire Explorer. Figuring if it can read a players database, it can read a tournament database. That may be overkill, and you may not need White/Black filtering. A quick and dirty solution, would be a sort function on the game page, where the opening is listed. This would allow you to see there were 3 Caro-Kanns, 4 Queens Gambits, and 6 Nimzo-Indians played in the tournament, and allow you to go directly to those games. An opening not listed where it should be alphabetically, would tell you it wasn't played in the tournament. |

|
Nov-27-22 | | stone free or die: <<petemcd85> Do post these instances and I will review the problem and act accordingly> I invite a forensic analysis on any exchange I engaged in, on any forum, at any time. But please be fair. One has to remember the context, contemporaneous activity on other forums, and how subtle passive-aggressive provocations, if condoned, quickly escalate into flagrant diatribe, habitually. And again, please be fair. This scrutiny shouldn't just apply to me, however. All members of <CG> should be subject to the same. And I still reserve the right to comment on content, regardless of who posts(*). * * * * *
(*) Keep in mind I make this reservation known because <CG> has wrongfully deleted constructive commentary on my part before (where I pointed out some difficulties in a suggestion for a new mating pattern name(+)). FWIW - the admins admitted as much when I challenged the deletion. (+) Aside - was that post ever restored? It should have been. Please consider this example, where a legitimate issue raised whether was is clearly chess oriented content is really a form of spam... Z Qin vs R Panjwani, 2012 (kibitz #1) (I might have been wrong in questioning the posts that questioned that post. At the time I was perhaps mistaken in the hope for deescalation). |

Nov-27-22 | | stone free or die: I will say that <CG> allowing this sort of post is, can I say it, unprofessional. <
<I would like to help you getting <zed> and <perfidious> banned - both of them.> ...
So , let us forget <perfidious > for the time being and focus on getting <zed> banned , first. And once we get <zed> banned , then we would focus on getting <perf> banned >
This is targeted to an individual, not because of misdeeds, but because of the individual - much like the banning of socks / aliases. I don't see where he cites an instance of actual abuse on either mine or <perf>'s part. And so, all the same, I would like to thank all my fans for picking me over <perf>, it's an honor I don't deserve (and neither does he!): <
What is there
for me to say? Everything wise and
witty has long since been said - by
minds more mature and talents far
greater than mine. For me to thank
you as equals would be presumptuous
- I am an apprentice in <CG>
and have much to learn from you
all. I can say only that I am proud
and happy and that I regard this
great honor not so much as an award
for what I have achieved, but as a
standard to hold against what I
have yet to accomplish.
(applause)
And further, I regard it as
bestowed upon me only in part. The
larger share belongs to my friends
in <CG> - and to <CG>
itself, which has given me all I
have. In good conscience, I must
give credit where credit is due.
>
Thank you, and good night! |

He is like <I invite forensic analysis of any post of mine any time > Awesome! Very constructive poster with a lot of integrity , apparently. 2) now , when <keypusher> asks right wingers to tone it down , have non toxic , non partisan intelligent , rational conversations which are above "us vs them " , some/many right wingers label him 'traitor' and such. 3) when I asked left wingers to tone it down , <perfidious> blocked me even though I have a lot of respect for <perfidious> and most of the time we are in agreement on different issues. 4) both left wingers and right wingers need to do better if they want a non toxic , intelligent , rational , constructive ecology at rogoffland |

Dec-05-22 | | stone free or die: Dear Admins,
Given the proven record of recidivism,
Alexander Alekhine (kibitz #3641) I am asking for all my account(s) to be restored. You know which one in particular I'm referring to, and given how flimsy your original rationale. (E.g. consider all the semi-pornographic and provocative ads <CG> promotes. In comparison, I don't think a video of a nature scene, which even included a warning, was the least bit out of line. In fact, I believe it was exactly relevant at the time.) Now, I can't <bear> to see obvious discrimination and favoritism be allowed to continue unchecked on <CG>. Especially when one side is so proportional and measured in its response. Thank you for your consideration.
All things Z (in conjunction with the ASPCA). |
