Staunton Memorial (2003)

The first event in the British Howard Staunton Memorial Tournament series was a 4-player double round robin played at Simpsons-in-the-Strand, London, 25-31 August 2003 (with the game D King vs J Emms, 2003 played on 1 September). Rest day: August 28. The tournament also marked the 175th anniversary of Simpsons-in-the-Strand as a chess venue. It was supported by the Staunton Society, the Savoy Hotel, the Ron Banwell legacy, and others. Prize fund: £4000, with £1500 to the winner. Games started at 3 pm. Time control: 150 minutes for the whole game. Chief organizers: Raymond Keene and Barry Martin.

Emms vs D King, 2003

A 4-player RR2 should have 12 games, not 11.

That <Emms--King> game is part of the tournament.

But the last statement is right, and there still should be another game between the pair (i.e. <King--Emms>), from R5.

King-Emms (r5) has a note explaining it was postponed from 30 Aug to 1st September ie it was actually played after r6.
