The 56th Russian Women's Championship Higher League was a 36-player Swiss tournament held in Orel (Oryol), Russia, 29 June - 7 July 2006. Chief arbiter: Nikolai Ananiev. The winner Valentina Gunina and four other players (Komiagina, Tairova, Bodnaruk and Korbut) qualified for the Russian Championship Superfinal (Women) (2006).
