| fred lennox: Improve your chess now is an excellent book. I highly recommend it. As a guinea pig, it worked for me. not only did i become stronger as a player, i feel my rate of improvement is steadier. It is, in a way, a complement to Think like a grandmaster by Kotov. In my opinion, it is not a substitute for the book for the serious student but has the advantage of hindsight and latter games. The book is to Kotov's book what Keene's Reappraisal is to My System. |

| Chessbum1: I first met Tisdall back in '73 in Syracuse NY. He was just a teen, and I was truly impressed by his quick sight of the board, and blitz chess. |

What a checkered past! American, then Irish, then Norwegian. With Japanese ancestry mixed in. Today's puzzle shows his amazing insight:
L Ogaard vs J D Tisdall, 1987 where finding move 32...Nxd5 was inspirational. |
