  biglo: According to ChessBase FIDE has banned this GM from tournament play for 1 year because of the fake Kali Cup GM tournament held in Mindzentkalla Hungary in February 2004. At 79 I hardly think he'll worry.

<At 79 I hardly think he'll worry.>

<biglo> That might indicate that perhaps he got paid to take part in this scheme.

  knightfly: I remember reading a quote attributed to Korchnoi about this player. Someone had just obtained the GM title and said to Korchnoi "now I am a grandmaster like you" to which he replied "no you are grandmaster like Damjanovic".
Apr-29-06   offramp: The poor town of Mindzentkalla. 58 hits on Google and they are all about the fake Kali Cup.
