Oct-29-19  patzer2: I'm also getting the error notics mentioned above when I request an analysis or attempt to view the PGN for a game.

Hopefully, Chessgames.com can fix this soon.

P.S.: Don't mind repeat puzzles too much, but the site not working for routine requests is really disappointing.

Please be patient. Soon the commands will all be worked out. <Daniel's> code was ad hoc and undocumented, so <Sargon's> task has been similar to dismantling a rocket and then putting it back together again- by himself. If he hadn't been working here with <Daniel> for as long as he has been, it's possible nobody would be able to figure out the Rosetta stone of cg.com code.

Earlier today a search of my own "recent kibbutzing" was returning an error, but within minutes it was working again, and it's still working.

I am guessing that it's important to keep posting the full error messages where you find them so <Sargon> can read them, and see where they are coming from. I don't really know "computering" because when I was young I didn't have time to go to the liberry.

Also there weren't any computers.

Here is the full error message I get from clicking on "view pgn" function from a game page:

So am I.

<jessicafischerqueen:

We are now on https and we have a "safety lock" icon and it doesn't say we are UNSAFE any more.>

My lock has a yellow triangle over it, with an exclamation point in the middle.

The triangle seems to have disappeared,
but I still can't access stockfish.

Oct-30-19  PawnUnion: Hi, I’m getting a forbidden message when analyzing, can anyone explain? there are no suggestions on the screen

Annie K.: <Ohio> but did you get yesterday's pun? ;)

Thanks for the reports everybody, the feedback is welcome and everything will be straightened out. :)

Oct-30-19  diceman: As of now (about 1:34 PM EST) I was able to get a database game computer analysis.

However, the Analysis Labratory computer did not work. I received this message:

<ERROR: AUTHORIZATION FAILED THIS MAY BE A BROSWER RELATED ISSUE.
CONTACT CHESS@CHESSGAMES.COM IF YOU BELIEVE THIS IN ERROR.>

The yellow triangle also came back over
my lock. After a few minutes it disappeared.

Heh... <Stoned Hedge> you personally know every single player page, don't you?

<The Humorous Anteater> Yes good reminder. It reminds me further of <Sargon's> past exploits, documented forever in the User: memorable quotes forum.

Nevar forget that <Sargon> heroically saved this site from a <Denial of Service> attack:

Memorable Quotes chessforum (kibitz #1586)

Not only did his service restore cg.com, it didn't end there. Not by a long shot.

I refer you to this item from that affair, recorded by User: Willber G :

<Sargon rebuilt my computer, cooked me dinner and <<<serviced my wife>>> so I could watch football.>

Yes, service up and beyond the call of duty has always been <Sargon's> watchword...

Anybody still having any problems with the analysis features?

Nov-01-19  diceman: <Annie K.:

Yes, I get the yellow triangle over the lock whenever I click the "Laboratory" tab. (it disappears when I go to another tab)

The page also seems sluggish to load, it takes about 1 to 2 minutes before the small chessboard to the left of the title shows up.

In spite of that, I was able to load and analyze a game. However, when I chose "request analysis" the active diagram plus the ones previously analyzed turned gray.

Once finished, the "View Game" seems to operate normally.
