Jun-21-13 | | kudubux: I'm rooting for Dubov in this one. Check out his exchange sacrifice win against Ovod. |
Jun-22-13 | | Jimmy W: Yes I'm interested in seeing how Daniil does in this as well. |
Jun-22-13 | | notyetagm: <kudubux: I'm rooting for Dubov in this one. Check out his <<<exchange sacrifice>>> win against Ovod.> D Dubov vs E Ovod, 2013
Yes, a very nice <EXCHANGE SAC> by Dubov. |
Jun-23-13 | | Nezhmetdinov: I'm up for Riazantsev, so sharp! |
Jun-23-13 | | nok: 2¢ on Shimanov! |
Jun-23-13 | | Strongest Force: How many qualify for 'the big show'? |
Jun-23-13 | | notyetagm: <Strongest Force: How many qualify for 'the big show'?> Top 5. |
Jun-24-13 | | wtwz: Whoever places first in this tournament also gets an invitation to next year's Tal Memorial. |
Jun-24-13 | | whiteshark: The <66th Russian Championship Higher League> in Yekaterinburg takes place 19th to 30th June 2013. Qualifier for the Super Final at the start of October in Moscow. Tournament page: http://russiachess.org/championship... |
Jun-25-13
 | | HeMateMe: Yekaterinberg is the city where the Tsarist Romanov family were murdered, as a prelude to the Bolsheviks taking power in Russia. <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yekate...> |
Jun-25-13 | | nok: a.k.a. Sverdlovsk. |
Jun-25-13 | | PhilFeeley: No Illya Nyzhnyk or Vadim Zvjaginsev? |
Jun-25-13 | | whiteshark: <PhilFeeley> Illya Nyzhnyk is Ukrainian and for <Vadim Zvjaginsev> I would try a shot in the dark - he's someone else's second... |
Jun-26-13 | | fisayo123: One of my favorite games so far.
D Khismatullin vs E Tomashevsky, 2013 |
Jun-27-13 | | Arcturar: Dubov started strong but kind of faltered here. Oh well, it happens. |
Jun-27-13 | | notyetagm: <Arcturar: Dubov started strong but kind of faltered here. Oh well, it happens.> Yep, this year is not his year.
*Last* year was his year. |
Jun-29-13 | | DrAjedrez: Who will win on tiebreak for the 2014 Tal Memorial spot, Nepomniachtchi or Inarkiev? |
Jun-29-13 | | Arcturar: Well, Nepo would be more interesting to see...I am afraid Inarkiev would be a bit out of his element. |
Jun-29-13 | | twinlark: What a tournament for 16 year old Eliseev. At the very least he gains his 3rd GM norm and the title. Does anyone know whether he made the cut for the Superfinal? |
Jun-30-13 | | jamesmaskell: According to RCF website, Inarkiev won the tournament and the nod to Tal Memorial 2014. The 3-5 placings (qualifying for the Super Final) look like Motylev, Goganov and Shomoev. |
Jun-30-13
 | | alexmagnus: Goganov and Shomoev are both sub-2600. And some say 2500s are not worthy of the GM title?!?! |
Jul-02-13 | | notyetagm: http://www.chessvibes.com/inarkiev-... <<Nepomniachtchi>'s last-round win got him next to <Inarkiev>. The latter had the highest Buchholz score and was declared the winner, and so we know one participant of the 2014 Tal Memorial. <Shomoev> and <Goganov> were the two surprising qualifiers for the Super Final; the fifth name was <Alexander Motylev>. Four of the 2700 players didn't manage: Nikita Vitiugov, Evgeny Alekseev, Dmitry Jakovenko and Alexander Riazantsev.> Inarkiev
Nepo
Shomoev
Goganov
Motylev
go to the SuperFinal. Inarkiev, the winner on tiebreak over Nepo, also goes to 2014 Tal Memorial. |
Jul-15-13 | | Refused: Well, good luck to Inarkiev at the Tal Memorial. He had some decent results, but nothing exceptional thus far. It will be interesting to see, how his swimming with the sharks will work out. A pity Eliseev did not make it to the Super Final. I would have prefered him over Shomoev there. But Alekseev and Jakovenko failing to qualify. That's tough. In other federations they would have been top seeds. Let's see, who else gets invited by the organizers. Grischuk said in Beijing, that he had not been invited (as of now), and thus can't say whether he will play. I assume he, Svidler and Karjakin will play the Superfinals. |
