Annie K.: Thanks to <Switch> for all the work, and congrats to the winners of the Spring leg!

I'll be setting up a few TCEC bets later today to start easy, then look around to see which of several other ongoing tournaments I can put up bets for over the weekend. :)

Jul-29-16  WinKing: Awesome game between Komodo & Houdini. Looked like Komodo might take it but Houdini has put up a tremendous defense! One of the better fighting draws I have seen between centaurs. The last 80 or so moves was just a lot of shuffling.

Good choice <Annie K.>! :)

  Annie K.: Thanks. :)

I never looked at computer chess before I started running the Bookie, but after a few seasons, I have to say I'm becoming something of a Komodo fan! It's an amazing program. Houdini can play a bit too, to be sure... ;)

Jul-30-16  gauer: Any interest in http://www.calgary-international.co... (2 rounds today, starts at 1pm Eastern time)? IM Razvan Preotu is trying for a rating boost (just got 3rd GM norm) and tied for lead after 4 rounds vs Gil Popilski. Gata Kamsky has white against the other leader, Michael H Bodek; Kayden W Troff vs Michael William Brown; Panjwani, Bruzon, Langer, Mikhalevski, etc are also involved in the runnings...

Penguincw: <Bookie>, I'm not sure if you're looking for this or not, but here are the chess-results sites for the 2 tournaments (if you need them, and haven't already found them):

Annie K.: <gauer> sorry, I can't use that tournament - they don't publish pairings long enough before the games for a decent betting pool to accumulate. In general, a tournament should publish "tomorrow's pairings" at least, to be featured here.

<Penguin> I know my way around Chess-Results, but thanks. :)

Aug-05-16  truepacifism: Is there a link to the Komodo-Fire game anywhere? All that the ChessBookie Game tells me is that it was a draw in less than 59 moves. Anyway, I'm new to all of this. I placed three bets.
Aug-05-16  truepacifism: How many more chances will I have to bet after the current ones which are closed?

There is a link in the description of the bet:

http://tcec.chessdom.com/live.php

If you click on that link, scroll down a bit, bottom right hand corner has a box with all the games for the current stage. Scrolling down to game 61, it was a draw in 54 moves.

Aug-16-16  truepacifism: When do we find out the results of the first two games?
Aug-17-16  truepacifism: I believe that this is the best forum to ask questions about this game; if I am wrong is there another place?

I am wondering if it is possible to find out more about the games that we are betting on, other than looking up the players themselves.

A more important question: after the "season" ends do I get to keep my pretend money that I have in my "account"? Obviously if I do, it would be wise not to gamble it all away.

Chessgames Bookie: <truepacifism> this is the place to ask questions about the Bookie, but you have already been told where to find more information about the games; there is always either an official site or a relay site reference link in every bet. Just use it.

After the season ends, all that matters is your place in the standings. The first place wins a year's Premium Membership; the top 10 places qualify for the Championship Leg, which means they will start the Championship (aka "winter") leg with 10,000 chessbucks, instead of the usual 1000. And of course, first and foremost, they win the prestige of being immortalized in the ChessBookie Hall of Fame! :)
