Chessgames Bookie chessforum

This was posted a couple pages back <FSR> so I'm guessing the Dortmund tournament which starts Saturday July 14th.

Jul-10-18  sydbarrett: Who is this Daniel Freeman and why is he rolling dice? Is he one of those characters from one of those videogames kids play these days? Oh I know he's that guy who played a hobbit.

  FSR: Kinda obvious, isn't it?

Probability of rolling 7 on two dice: 6/36 = 1/6

6 or 8: each is 5/36

5 or 9: each is 4/36 = 1/9

4 or 10: each is 3/36 = 1/12

3 or 11: each is 2/36 = 1/18

2 or 12: each is 1/36.

chessgames.com: OK I think we're done training/testing and we'll set up the real leg either today or in the early hours of the morning. You'll know it's "for real" when you see the Dortmund winner bet online and your money reset to 1000.

Good luck with the Summer Leg and let's all give a special thanks for Annie for selflessly stepping up to the plate in an absence of volunteers.

chessgames.com: Some new exotic bets for the die-hard gamblers:

Dortmund: Percentage of draws?
Dortmund: Epic game?
Dortmund: Long castling?
Dortmund: Underpromotion?

Jul-13-18  sydbarrett: ha ha, some of the bets being made make me laugh. then again, my sense of humour can be odd. $$$

Annie K.: Dear <Bettors and Worse>, we decided to make things more interesting for y'all this leg. Since running legs as often as I do doesn't leave me with a lot of enthusiasm for taking time to make up exotic bets, this leg we will feature <Daniel> himself in charge of exotics. (We will also try to have our new Bookie do payoffs, so try to be patient if a few mistakes happen. Just report them, and don't worry, we'll fix'em.)

Have fun everybody! :D

<morfishine> if you want to do something nice for me, quit the commentary on the GotD puns. ;)

Jan-Krzysztof Duda

Yeah, I know, you haven't heard much about him. All that will be different when Dortmund is over.

For sure he has the largest pic I've ever seen on <cg>.

Large pic equals largest chance of winning?

  WannaBe: <Sneaky> & <Penguincw> LOL!!!! Nice find.
Jul-14-18  sydbarrett: I just bet 200 bucks on the long-castle bet without understanding it. What do you mean by how many times? Total number of games? instances? round? I guess I just bet blind without comprehension. :-/

OhioChessFan: If it takes more than 5 seconds from first touch of the King to complete the process of lifting King and Rook to their new squares.
Jul-14-18  sydbarrett: Nevermind I get it now. There are 28 games total, not 50+ like I thought, so the choices make more sense. You probably meant instances, not games or rounds. Surely there will be at least 6 instances.
Jul-14-18  sydbarrett: If that photo isn't photoshopped, I think Duda is a reasonably good-looking dude, which is rare attribute for a chessplayer. I don't think he will win though Sneaky, sorry.

chessgames.com: <Total number of games? instances? round?> Total number of instances it occurred. I believe there will be a total of 28 games so that would be a maximum of 54 long castles.
