 | | MissScarlett: I'd mention again there's a major online event taking place, but I can see that sorting out the problem of third party ads takes priority. |

 | | Check It Out: Yes, the "Airthings Masters". Results: three way first place tie with Carlsen, Nakamura, and So! And the winner on tiebreaks was... |

 | | Tabanus: <Sargon> Thanks, and Russian Championship Superfinal (Women) Tiebreaks (2020) is up. It's a little awkward to have two different pages for one event, but else the games tend to be "buried" when played on the same date as the last round of the round robin. I'm not sure which is the best. Btw if you cough up the 66 games from the "Airthings Masters" (prelim) I have an intro ready. On the GM draws (if any in this case) I think it's best to turn off the detection of duplicate games. They are not real duplicates (if from different events or between different players), and they do belong to the story. |

Premium Chessgames Member Sargon: Dear fellow Chessgames.com members, we do sincerely apologize for any and all oversights regarding the timely addition of tournaments deemed important by various members, as well as the zip file update issue, which has also been raised more than once.Although I myself have been working on some other pressing matters in recent months, those "fires" have now been adequately extinguished, and I personally vow to make a bona fide effort at providing more timely responses to <all> issues raised on this forum. > chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #34729) <Dec-25-20

| Jan-01-21 | | mmmjv: Why can't I get the deluxe viewer board no matter what I do or what I download I tried the FAQ section here and it sends me to a page that tells me I can't use their java on my Chrome browser because We have detected you are using Google Chrome and might be unable to use the Java plugin from this browser. Starting with Version 42 (released April 2015), Chrome has disabled the standard way in which browsers support plugins. And I can't use it on my Firefox because
We have detected you are using the 64-bit version of Firefox which will not run the Java plugin from this browser. The Firefox I just downloaded about 20 minutes ago just for this reason. Didn't Java used to be something that was just there? I have used it before on this site in the past. I've had no problem getting the chess viewer deluxe board but now I can't. I also just downloaded Edge and it doesn't work there either. This is two brand new browsers I downloaded just today that should have the latest of everything. I did a download of 64-bit Java for Windows from the "help" section of this site and it has not helped. Do I have to download that seperately for each browser. I also tried it with Brave but I got the Chrome warning there. Is there another setting where you can do analysis? |

 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<mmmjv> Only <internet explorer> can be configured to support Java. This web page here telling you how to do that is a year old, however: https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/web-b... Java is dead I don't know why cg.com doesn't take that option off their game player. Java is dead and it's never coming back. |

 | | Sargon: Dear <MissScarlett> et al: I've updated <all> the zip files through 12/31/2020.
Please let us know if anyone notices any issues, and we'll clear them up ASAP. Additionally, the Airthings Masters (2020) tournament should now be fully up to date. Apologies for the initial tardiness, and we'll stay on top of things moving forward. <Happy New Year> everyone! Regards,
Sargon |
|
| Jan-01-21 | | Z4all: Hi <Sargon> - Great, glad to hear. Are there plans for doing so on a regular schedule from here on out? Could it be automated in the future? Regards, --Z
PS- Credit should go to <Telemus> for "seeing" an update was needed. PPS- Thanks again, and Happy New Year to you too. |
|
| Jan-01-21 | | Z4all: <mmmjv> you probably want to switch over to <Olga> for viewing on <CG>, which should be updated to the new version in the very near future. Myself, I just copy (cut-and-paste) the PGN over to <SCID> whenever I want to do an in-depth analysis of a game. http://scid.sourceforge.net/
(Freely available, powerful and versatile, well worth the small effort required to learn) |

 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<z> I had no idea SCID was freeware. I just downloaded it, so thanks for the hot tip brah. |
