perfidious: The one poster here caterwauling about free speech would, in a nanosecond, ruthlessly suppress that right for others if so allowed.
Jun-25-22  nok: <Posting the same word or phrase a hundred times in a row, even if it is on a hundred different games, is spamming and not allowed.>

What do you think about this?

Kenneth Rogoff (kibitz #505709)

saffuna: <george wallace><And please realize that non-Americans don't understand what a Free Speech Zone is.

Now <Susan>, you know that I am a devoted advocate of free speech, so I suggest if you need any help with this, you make <me> the person who suspends and unsuspends, who bans and unbans, as I would exercise this authority in the true spirit of American free speech.>

Are there two posters named <george wallace> on this page?

Because one <george wallace> has a forum which restricts who can post (User: big pawn). Can't be the same one who extols free speech above.

Jun-25-22  Messiah: Everyone shut up, round 7 is about to start.

Susan Freeman: I am sad to announce that I heard from a reliable source that our dear friend,< Phony benoni> passed away yesterday.

He will be missed.

<MissS> perhaps a pun from him is in order. I know he was a good punster.

RIP

Jun-26-22  George Wallace: That's too bad. <PB> was a goog poster and a funny guy. Nice guy.

RIP

OhioChessFan: Oh my. I had noticed his GOTD Collection wasn't updating puns for the last few days. Just one of many ways he contributed to the site.

MissScarlett: <Game of the Day 2022> brought up to date: Game Collection: Game of the Day 2022 Does anyone want to assume the responsibility?
Jun-27-22  suenteus po 147: <MissScarlett> I will take over the responsibility of updating the collection if someone else hasn't already volunteered. It's the least I can do for Dave.

MissScarlett: It’s your baby now. You know how to clone a collection, I’m sure.
Jun-27-22  suenteus po 147: <MissScarlett: You know how to clone a collection, I’m sure.> The instructions were pretty clear :)
Jun-27-22  Z free or die: While I think it admirable for <sp147> to take up the work, I have to ask -

Why can't <CG> just automate the collecting of GotD's?

Saving the game, pun (and submitter) seems a straight-forward task, at least once the GotD is choosen.

OhioChessFan: I think part of what was being looked for was to also update the list of already used puns. For example, today's pun "Don't Rain on My Parr-Wade" should also be recorded here:

Game Collection: Game of the Day Pun Index (Dead - French

I don't think that part of it would be so easy to automate.

Jun-27-22  Z free or die: <OCF> that's just another sorting, so I would think it could also be handled with just a little bit of thought.

OhioChessFan: Tell me this isn't true:

<The account <Messiah> has received a kibitzing suspension for 96 hours due to the following post:

Messiah: Obviously, I am risking a ban with this comment, but games have started.

REASON: VIOLATED RULE #6

Due to the brevity of this suspension, it may not be appealed. You will be able to post again at 2022-06-29 15:50:12 USA/Eastern.>

Sincerely,

WannaBe: I sincerely hope it's a joke. According to his kibitz'n record, 3 times on June 25, and twice on June 24. Nothing on June 23, and twice on June 22 with "Games Started" on the Prediction Contest Forums.

Does the owner(s) of this web-site know we do this for the contest? How long have we been under this "New Management" and their heads are still in the sand?

What. The. Heck. Is. Going. On. Here? Total. Out. Of. Touch.

MissScarlett: What length of suspension merits an appeals’ process?
Jun-28-22  Z free or die: Additionally, is there even a record kept of who gets suspended by whom, for what, and for how long?
