So , <George Wallace> , at the most , you may request admins to formulate some new guideline/rule which make your daily venomous alert against the rules (if such a rule already does not exist) Here it is pertinent to remind that guideline number 7 came into existence much , much later - perhaps, after you made zillions of sock puppets. So , you may become the proud inspiration for the guideline number 8 as well , if needed . Pretty simple. |

History of the World Chess Championship
Is up to date now. Thanks!>
Except Kasparov - Short (1993), Kasparov - Kramnik (2000), Kramnik - Leko (2004) were not FIDE championships during the split. I wasn't aware that Kasparov - Ponomariov World Championship Match (2003) had joined <Staunton - Morphy (1858)> and <Fischer - Karpov (1975)> in the ranks of the great unplayed matches. |

 | | Dionysius1: Can someone kindly tell me the process for finding the page where there's discussion on the Opening of the Day? A while back <Stonehenge> linked me to the page for Danish Gambit discussion as Opening of the Day, so I know it's possible, but not how to get there. I've tried clicking on the Opening Designation links, and that brings a list of games. Useful, but there's never discussion attached. As in today's Opening of the Day Ruy Lopez Exchange Thanks! |

 | | MissScarlett: Can we fix it so Henry Ernest Atkins is tomorrow's <POTD>? It's the 150th anniversary of his birth. It seems the <ECF> neglected my call for an <Atkins Memorial> event, but with the British championships in progress, maybe they have something up their sleeve, but I'm not counting on it. |
|
Aug-19-22
 | | Caisso: Good suggestion. Potd for tomorrow is Atkins. Apologies to Olga Rubtsova. She will wait till next year. |

| Aug-20-22 | | stone free or die: Chris and cormier were here for quite awhile under Daniel's term. Since both of their posts rarely, if ever, addressed other <CG> members (unless they were responding to a call out) it's very easy to put them on ignore and never have to think about their posts again. I suppose if there were hundreds of other users doing the same it might be different... . |

| Aug-20-22 | | stone free or die: Sideline - Ignore Lists...
An observation, and maybe a question for <CG>: • If a user has a premium account, and has their forum open, then another user can determine if they're on the first user's ignore list by trying to post on that user's forum. But it's otherwise impossible to determine if you're on a user's ignore-list otherwise - e.g. if they're a non-premium user and don't have a forum, or if the personal forum isn't open. * * * * *
This asymmetry seems to be just a consequence of some natural programming choices... but should it be? 1. <CG> could add a feature to allow user's to check other user's ignore-lists (either generally, or just specifically for themselves). 2. <CG> could hide the masking for a premium user by allowing a post to be made, but only show up for the ignored user. Both would involve extra, and maybe not-so-useful programming. Just thought I'd mention this <CG> wrinkle, after checking that <Messiah> didn't put me on his ignore-list. . |

My ignore-list is empty, and it will remain empty. I won't put anyone onto it. |
|
| Aug-20-22 | | stone free or die: FWIW- ignore-lists are another rationale for aliases. One can tailor their ignore-list for different purposes by using different <CG> accounts. E.g. a restrictive ignore-list for a biographer account, and a non-restrictive ignore-list for "social" (i.e. trollish) purposes. |
