  cu8sfan: Here's the solution to the trivia questions:

<GM Tournament>
Which game got the most predictions for
a) a white win?

The solution is Radjabov vs Y Pelletier, 2006 with 19 white wins and 3 draws predicted. The game ended 1/2-1/2 (19/3/0, 1/2-1/2). Runner-up were Morozevich vs A Volokitin, 2006 (18/4/0, 1-0) and Morozevich vs Y Pelletier, 2006 (18/3/1, 1-0).

b) a draw?

Y Pelletier vs A Volokitin, 2006 had the most predictions for a draw with 21 (1/21/0, 1-0), followed by A Volokitin vs L Bruzon, 2006 (6/17/0, 1/2-1/2) and Radjabov vs Morozevich, 2006 (4/17/1, 1/2-1/2 in 10 moves!).

c) a black win?

Y Pelletier vs Morozevich, 2006 (0/6/17, 0-1) was guessed correctly by <percyblakeney>, <YouRang> and <iron maiden>. Next were Y Pelletier vs Radjabov, 2006 (0/12/11, 0-1) and A Volokitin vs Morozevich, 2006 (1/12/9, 0-1) which both got more predictions for a draw.

<Ladies Tournament>
Which games got the most predictions for
a) a white win?

P Cramling vs A Muzychuk, 2006 (11/10/0, 1/2-1/2) and A Skripchenko-Lautier vs E Polovnikova-Atalik, 2006 (11/10/0, 0-1) share the answer to this question. Third was P Cramling vs M Socko, 2006 (10/12/0, 1-0), the first game in this answer that actually was won by white. Notice that it got more predictions for a draw than for a white win.

b) a draw?

Again a tie between A Muzychuk vs Y Dembo, 2006 (3/18/1, 1/2-1/2) and M Socko vs P Cramling, 2006 (2/18/1, 1/2-1/2). Third was Y Dembo vs A Muzychuk, 2006 (5/16/0, 1/2-1/2).

c) a black win?

A Muzychuk vs P Cramling, 2006 (1/6/14, 1/2-1/2) won by a wide margin, the runner-ups again had more predictions for a draw than for a black win: E Polovnikova-Atalik vs P Cramling, 2006 (2/15/5, 0-1) and E Polovnikova-Atalik vs Y Dembo, 2006 (1/15/5, 1-0).

Aug-27-06  Bobak Zahmat: <cus8fan> What is the next tournament for which you will organize a prediction contest? Perhaps the reunification match between Topalov and Kramnik?

  cu8sfan: <What is the next tournament for which you will organize a prediction contest?> I don't know yet. A match is not very interesting for the format I'm using. I've always done the Russian Championship but often there's not a lot of information available. I'd like to do more contests, but smaller ones. As I will be gone for a while in September I will probably address this question come October.
Sep-04-06  Chess Classics: <cu8sfan> Hey mate. Just reminding you that the correspondence tournament starts tomorrow. Your pairings are on my forum.
