| Jul-29-18 | | morfishine: <moronovich> Does it seem extra difficult wagering during this summer leg, specifically this tournament, Biel Biel (2018)? It just seems so hard to predict anything within normal odds, there's no rhyme or reason |
|
Jul-29-18
 | | moronovich: Hi <morf> !
Yeah, something like that.Or at least it is the same observation here, but OTOH,i have never gone deep into this tournament as I have been occupied with Tour de France. But you may be onto something deep. And this is the area were the gains are.Something like:Players(and humans in general) follow a certain pattern, untill a certain point and then something ells happens….And trying to feel these changes beforehand is of collosal benefit for the "gambler".E.g.here on CG were the odds sometimes will tell the story about people overeacting(or underreacting,if there is something called that!?):. Food for thought and I could talk for hours on this subject and feel free to elaborate here if you like. The bottomline IMHO,is to see it positive and as a challenge.(But I know it can be difficult and even frustrating. But then againif it all was by the book and a simple mathematical puzzle it would be zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz;) All the best and see you again ! |

 | | moronovich: Hi <virginmind> ! Yes what it tragic loss with Daniels premature death. It really saddened me and I sincerely hope that CG will continue, more or less as it is now.At least there are some fine folks(merely the oldtimers)who seem to be willing to help. Here we finnaly have some grey weather with lower temperatures and I love it.Seems like long ago and it is :) Had one more of the magic sessions with
JWH yesterday and today it is a privellege to have the whole house for myself as wife is out on a trip with one of her old friends. But it will be nice to see her again tonight:) Next is Seinquefeld Chess on the 11th
and it is usually on of the best tournaments of the year IMHO.The whole atmosphere is filled with respect for our old royal game. So all in all, thing are fine here and what about you? Any solution with the doctor(s)? I hope so.And send you many greetings and hoka heys ! All the best and also hellos from Hannah whom I send your hugs to her ! |
|
| Aug-06-18 | | virginmind: Hello, yes, very sad. And I didn't know that he was in charge for Chessgames.com, that during all the years when this site has been part of my life, Daniel was working daily assuring that things go smoothly here, taking care of everything (together with Alberto Artidiello - RIP, I didn't know of him either). A very belated thank you, for both of them!...Hopefully, those who will assume the administration part here, will be able to keep chessgames.com alive, in the same way that it was during all this past years. We're leaving for Brasov shortly, and the weather is cooperating, beautiful days all over the country, no more rains.
Of course I'm waiting for Sinquefield to start, even though I think I'll b able to watch live only it's second part, after we return to Iasi. I'm glad you're having a good time. I have an appointment with the doctor after we return home, but so far no improvement. All the best to Hannah and to you and see you around. |

 | | moronovich: <We're leaving for Brasov shortly, and the weather is cooperating, beautiful days all over the country, no more rains> Hey,that is great. The weather mean so much to our health...as here the temperatues had slowed down for a coupæe of days and it is pure bliss.A minor heathwawe on its way,but only for a few days. <.Hopefully, those who will assume the administration part here, will be able to keep chessgames.com alive, in the same way that it was during all this past years.> Agreed and let us keep the fingers crossed.CG is too vibrant a place that means a lot to many people. One days left of Hannahs vacation ):and I am looking forward to have the house for my self during daytime, but looking back it was a beautifull almost 4 weeks we had together with a lot of fun and cooperation.Even something called love. So all is well here and I hope you will have a nice trip to Brasov!, which I´ll google now. Take care and see you up/down the road. |

| Aug-15-18 | | virginmind: Hi <moronovich>! We're back form Brasov and it was just fabulous, weather and everything. We didn't get up on the Bucegi plateau though, as too big a queue for the cable car. Still we visited a beautiful castle and the awsome modern art exhibition on its surroundings. I was looking for Kasparov and Carlsen in Saint Louis, but looks like they will participate only in Sinquefield. Now I see that Kasparov will not be there either. Great broadcast and games, as expected, some dramas here and there, and quite a show! Lovely summertime evenings and health cooperates. I hope yours too. Hugs. |

Aug-18-18
 | | moronovich: Good evening dear <virginmind> ! Glad to hear you had such a nice trip to
Brasov! With fine weather and all the beautifull buildings which I actually googled, just to get an impresssion and I found it guite awesome !... Quite awsesome it also was to be,once again with my good friend JWH.And as you know we can talk about everything and we do !;)E.g. he is,as you know, writing a book about some days in Berlin many years ago.And I feel privelledged that he invites me too his deeper personal discoveries on the inside as well as the outside. Right now I am in Sinquefield and once
again feeling "spoiled" in the fine company with Yassser and friends.Especially the performance of Maurice Ashley.Just to listen to his voice and also how good he is with words as well as his pronouncation. And off course the battle between our 2 contenders!Who will,if any,get the upper hand!? Weather here has certainly slowed down and now we are closer to autumn than summer. CG is waiting for the new boss and some people are leaving the site ): Hope sincerely that the bleeding will stop...And btw do you have an e-mail address you could post,so we wont loose each other !? (The best way to do it,is finding a moment were we both are online an then set it up for 10-15 minuttes, and then delete) Till then:take care and all the best to you and Maria as well. See you up the road ! |

| Aug-20-18 | | morfishine: <mornonovich> Are there some unique foods/recipes from Denmark you'd like to share? I worked in the French restaurant at Epcot so have some exposure to french food; I also had a German girlfriend for awhile so was familiar with some German dishes. Is food from Denmark heavy like German food? Or more flavorful (but rich) like French food? Is it like Belgium food? Is there a specific food unique only to Denmark? Thanks, morf |

Aug-20-18
 | | moronovich: Hi <morf> !
Here is our favourite fish dish (kind of:)
(Food)pancakes in the oven-around 15 min
Meanwhile you have covered the pan(just a little olive oil-app 1 spoonfull)with tiny chopped carottes(2-3,medium size) 7-8 min later:add
chopped leek(s) 1-1½ medium size).5 min before they are done add shrimps(it is ok they are from the fridge)around 250-300 gr.and finally suply with chopped, not too crunchy, nor too fine, almonds together with cayenne(not too hot;) and some spice called "Garlic Peber" which is a mixture and the brand is called "Santa Maria".You add the ingredient to the pan on heat below par in these 15 min it takes the pancakes in the oven(remember to wrap them in silver paper(is it called tin foil!?).
p.s.: the leeks are cut in slices about 2-3 mm,measured from above. Serve this deliciuos mixture rolled in the pancakes ,et voila! This is my own invention which doesnt make the eating experience less delightfull ! Danish kitchen is traditionally a little heavier than french and italian. But also we are strongly influenced by other cultures these years. Bonne appetite et au revoir . |
|
| Aug-20-18 | | morfishine: Thanks <moronovich>! I have all the raw spices. One question about the pancakes, Are these actual pancakes or more like soft tortilla shells? |
|
Aug-20-18
 | | moronovich: You are welcome <morf> ! They are actual pancakes(can be bought in a mall, dont have to be homemade),but not those for desert.
And I forgot to mention, that the recipe is for 2 persons and will give around 6 pancakes, medium size. Tortilla shells(pancake style)can also be used, but are not so refined in their taste. |
|
| Aug-20-18 | | morfishine: Thanks, got it, I am planning on using the <Count>'s recipe for cod fish and your fish pancake's this weekend, I can hardly wait! |
|
Aug-21-18
 | | moronovich: Hi <virginmind >! Thanks for your response so now we are not lost ! I´ll respond in a short time,at least just to see if it works out !?
And interesting to see if the recipe works too!? At least it is our favourite, but you also know that wife and I eat everytning thah comes from the ocean …..I´ send her your hugs, and last time I mentioned it she
send some in return.
Yeah Carlsen is a little devil on the 64 squares, who can grind out wine, whiskey or water from a stone.Actualle his game vs Karjakin reminded me of the same kind of exchangesac that Karjakin made vs Caruana at the Candidates !? All is well here and I do my best to celebrate the everyday life. Take care and see you down or up the road !

 | | moronovich: <morfishine: BTW: <moronovich> Very impressive, ELO 2316
I keep trying to break out above 2000> Thanks <morf> !
I also made an IM norm, but at that time I found interest in something of greater value to me.And I also found the chess communite to be too nerdy and the like.
But please let me know if I can be of any inspiration on your chess jorney. As I am also impressed by your rating, especially in light of your age. Only a few people make real progress after a certain age. Very curious about the pancake experiment :) |
|
| Aug-21-18 | | morfishine: <moronovich> I want to extend my heartiest congratulations on your IM norm! That is a real and notable achievement! My "chess journey" has been broken up over time. I only seriously bought books in an effort to improve when I first became addicted to chess when I was 23 years old (36 years ago), so I'm a late starter. I only drifted back to chess about 9 years ago (when I was 50) and with the help of <Patriot> began organized, disciplined "training" on a daily basis. My rating moved up 200+ points but plateaued a couple of years ago below 2000. I decided I just didn't want to train all the time, so I have fun playing Chess960 over at Chesscube.com. I love 960! I will let you know how the pancakes turn out, I'm sure they will be excellent this weekend! best, morf |
|
| Aug-27-18 | | morfishine: <moronovich> I had to postpone the seafood pancakes this past weekend at the last minute, but I'm all set to go this upcoming weekend, all the ingredients are bought and ready! |
