Zemgalis finished 3rd behind Lucius Endzelins and Karlis Ozols , ahead of Friedrich Nuernberg , Friedrich Saemisch , Walter Jursevskis , Leonids Dreibergs , Kazys Skema , A Zirnis , Alfred J Krumins, Arkadij Strazdins, Ignas Zalys , Maximilian Ernst Poolake (Maximilian Ernst ("Max") Poolake, b. 1 Sep 1914 in Estonia, married 1949 in Gloucestershire to Daphne I M Pitt, died 2 Oct 1987 in Bournemouth.), Heinricks Kalnins , Artur Darznieks , Artemijs Stabins and Udo Nurme, scoring +10-3=3.

This tournament also featured an internal "Latvian Championship in Exile" competition among the Latvian players at <Hanau 1947>. In addition to their score in the general tournament, a second cros table would be created to reflect only the Latvian players' results against other Latvian players in the tournament.

Among the Latvian players, <Zemgailis> tied for 1st with Teodors Bergs and Karlis Ozols . The winner of the Latvian Championship in Exile competition would not finally be decided until a three man quadruple round robin playoff match was held in Fischbach (14-21 May).
