Juan Manuel Bellon Lopez was born in Valencia. FIDE awarded him the IM title in 1974 and the GM title in 1979. He was Spanish Champion in 1969, 1971, 1974, 1977 and 1982. In tournaments he was 1st at Torremolinos 1978 and 2nd= at Montilla in 1978. Bellon is also a Developmental Instructor (2014). He is married to Pia Cramling and their daughter also plays chess: Anna Cramling Bellon.
