Tabanus: Placed 2nd in Open Graz (Austria) 28 Aug. - 5 Sept. 2010:

http://www.chess-results.com/tnr319...

Jun-16-12  waustad: He won the 2011 Graz open: http://www.chess.at/meldungen/graz-...

Looking at the games he beat Eva Moser by 1/2 point, in part due to having taken many very short draws with most the other top players. The two leaders didn't play each other.

Jul-21-13  waustad: Today he is playing Luca Kessler, a 2280 player born in '97 at the Austrian Championships. Here is a link for now: http://www.members.aon.at/schach1/l...
Jul-25-13  waustad: After 6 rounds he is at 5 points in the Austrian championship, leaving him with at least a tie for the lead. Alexander Fauland looks likely to join him soon,
Jul-27-13  waustad: After the penultimate round where he drew with Andreas Diermair he is tied for the lead with Peter Schreiner with 6.5/8. They have already played and drew, so it will be interesting to see what the pairings will be for the final round.
Nov-02-13  waustad: He is not having a very good tournament at the 2nd Rapid Chess Tournament of Danube Countries 2013 with 2 wins and 5 losses so far. However one of his wins is against Topalov, so it isn't a total loss. http://www.chess-results.com/tnr115...
Dec-02-13  waustad: Olimpbase has him playing for an Austrian club team in 2006 under the Georgian flag and everything from 2009 on under the Austrian flag. From his German wiki page: Seit Mai 2009 spielt er für den Österreichischen Schachbund.

They charged him 3200 euros for the transfer: http://ratings.fide.com/fedchange.p...

Penguincw: Happy 34th birthday to GM Davit Shengelia!
Mar-06-14  waustad: Happy b'day to David Shengelia, as he seems to be called now as an Austrian citizen.
Apr-20-14  waustad: He will be giving an interview on ChessBase TV Austria tomorrow discussing rook endgames. More information is available here: http://www.chess.at/

These eventually wind up on a youtube channel.

Jun-10-14  waustad: It is rather odd that results are not available for the HUSEK VIENNA OPEN 2014, though they keep "updating" the listing on chess-results, but nothing ever changes. There is nothing on the tournament website telling how anybody is doing either, from what I can tell. Maybe they'll do something after it is over.

http://chess-results.com/tnr129402....

Jun-16-14  waustad: I'm off a month. Sorry. That tournament will be played on the same days as the Styrian Open, so Austrians will have to choose where to play.
Aug-24-14  waustad: The Austrian Championships have just started. Shengelia is playing Heimo Titz on top board. He's white in a very strange opening that started as a Sicilian. The games are available live here: http://chess-results.com/live.aspx?...
Aug-25-14  waustad: Tomorrow morning Shengelia will be black against Andreas Diermair in a battle of the only two players left at 3/3 in the Austrian Championships.
Aug-01-15  waustad: Congratulations on winning the 2015 Austrian championship with a round to spare, scoring 7.5/8 and leading by 1.5 going into the final round.
Mar-06-16  TheFocus: Happy birthday, Davit Shengelia.
Oct-30-19  waustad: He’s having a good tournament in the European Team Championships. He’s +4 after 6 rounds and has gained 23.6 elo.
