Boris Nevednicii (19.05.1939 – 26.05.2025)
Raisa Nevednicii (01.01.1944 – 28.05.2025)

With deep sadness we announce the passing into eternity of two outstanding personalities of Moldovan chess – Boris and Raisa Nevednicii, husband and wife, united by a life lived nobly in the service of the sport of the mind. Boris Nevednicii, born on May 19, 1939 in the town of Crasnîe Ocna (Ukraine), was an international master, multiple national champion and a well-known elite coach. A graduate of the Faculty of Law of the Chisinau State University, he dedicated his entire life to chess and the education of younger generations. Since 1994, he has worked at the Specialized Sports School of Chess No. 7 in Chisinau, where he has trained numerous internationally recognized masters, including:

GM Dmitrii Svetuškin
GM Vladislav Nevednicii
IM Irina Bulmaga
IM Iulian Baltag
IM Sergiu Bargan
FM Alexandru Ogleznev

Raisa Nevednicii, master of sports, multiple national champion, was also a chess coach at the same school, actively supporting and contributing to the development of young talents and promoting the values of chess. Their departure leaves a deep void in our hearts and in the entire community. The devotion, modesty and passion with which they served Moldovan chess will always remain alive in our memory. We convey our sincere condolences to their family, colleagues and disciples. May God rest their souls in peace.>
