Black to play...

This is the coolest pawn-ending I ran into lately. At a superficial glance, Black position looks holess. But it is not hopeless at all!

1...a4!! 2.Ke4 b4! 3.Kxd4 bxa3 4.Kc3 Kg5 5.d4 Kxg4 0:1.

Sep-17-06  percyblakeney: Zvorikina (or is it Zvorykina?) may be 87 years old, but she's still playing rated games and is 2071 at the moment. In 1959 she had 2.5-2.5 in the title match but missed the win in game 6 and eventually failed to become World Champion: E Bykova vs K Zvorykina, 1959

Zvorykina married grandmaster and chess trainer Alexey Suetin and together they had a son, Aleksandr, born 1951.

alexmagnus: <Kira Alexeyevna Zvorykina was born in Nikolayev, Ukraine (formerly USSR)>

"Formerly USSR" is definitely wrong as the Soviet Union was not yet founded in 1919. Even its predecessor, the Soviet Ukraine, was founded in 1920.

But which country did Nikolayev belong to on September 29th of 1919? I cannot give a definite answer, but most probably it was <Ukrainian People's Republic> (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrai...)
