Oh, a rare perfidious appeared. A premium member and site editor so full of himself he could even beat Magnus with knight odds IMAO Cool down you megalomaniac; I understand you don't give a poop about site rules or the of scope your personal safe space. |

 | | Susan Freeman: <AylerKupp> Yes, I saw that article on zoom. They have Chess.com as a mere 20 million right next to CG. LOL I consider Erik from Chess.com a friend, even though he is a competitor, and I even had plans to meet him when I was in San Francisco for a few days on my way to Singapore a year ago. He was going to come to the Sir Francis Drake where I was staying, but we both got too busy and decided not to mix holiday with business . We still communicate on the phone. once in a while, (much to Sargon's dismay) . lol. Erik and Chess.com are wayy out of CG's league. They are huge. So much for zoom. And enough off topic posts here. |

|
Sep-30-20 | | metatron2: <moronovich: That could perhaps also happen to you,some day> Very unlikely.
Someone who calls himself "login", and who comes around only to tell the owner and savior (voluntarily I might add) of this website/community, that she should stop posting off-topic (on a page that doesn't really have a topic anymore, since its tournament that ended long ago)? I don't think so. |
|
Oct-01-20 | | SimplicityRichard: <metatron2> Moronovich is right. Perfidious is a well respected member of this site with good reason: He's incredibly helpful as is Moronovich. Please don't be bitter. Your comments sound bitter. |
|
Oct-01-20 | | Sokrates: <SimplicityRichard> <... Your comments sound bitter.> Not to me. <metatron2> gave the man a well-deserved and precise flick, that's not being bitter. I am sure you know the difference between being angry and bitter. And now the person in question already got way too much attention. Sorry! |

For the the record: my post - that you have had problems understanding (happens when one puts zero efford into reading) was just (sic!) directed at the particular comment (and therefore visibly posted right under his share) of our dear AylerKrupp around 10 days earlier (so much for the only non-argument I could decipher that stuff began long after the the tournament was over). St. Louis Rapid & Blitz (2020) (kibitz #60) Ever since this tourney (the 2nd/3rd most popular in total views this year if I understood reddit) was off-topic for 5 out of 7 pages (from covid to financial speculation). 'Best promotion' and of great help to reach new members for this struggling site. They come here, see your drivel and leave. But who could have said it better than meatron2 himself
'on a page that doesn't really have a topic anymore'. Later posts are tough guys' buddy buddy and banter. All fine, all off-topic and if you would stop putting words in my mouth ('who comes around only to tell' assuming a systematic approach, after your deliberate misinterpretation of a single posting) willingly accepting to construct a virtual cardhouse where it seems that I would have attacked the admin(s) all harmless. But if anyone feels obliged and still continues on that particular ugly route of fake news, that means trouble. Shame my (neutral/non racist or sexist) username all you want, call someone hypocrite/lurkhead out of nothing fine ('respectable and helpful' remarks), but it ends right there where meatron2 makes dangerous (possibly bannable for me) stuff up.
Not so funny 🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇🐇🐰. |

Oct-01-20 | | Big Pawn: <Moron: <Perfidious> is a well respected member here.> lols
LOLS!
He's like the Rain Man, except he has no special talents. <Perfidious> is one of the most hated and ignored posters on this site. Even on the <Rogoff> page, no one really talks to him on one side or the other, except to rattle his cage and walk away. <Perfidious> is a guy who stoops to the lowest possible level on this site. He actually insults people's mothers on a regular basis (there are hundreds of posts) and thinks he's somehow winning a debate when he does that. I don't know of any other poster on this site that does that, and there are some dubious people here for sure. His insufferable pretentiousness is bad enough, but when you add to it his childish tantrums and schoolyard taunts, it's clear that he does not deserve and does not receive much respect at all. I mean, the guy is a 2100 player and he refers to his chess games as his <career> lols lols lols
Of course, the admins on this site allowed him to post obscene, profane, vitriolic language and engage in years long systemic personal attacks, while suspending other members for two years over nothing really. True story. |

Oct-01-20 | | shach motov: It's true that <Perf> stinks up any page he posts on, being one of the smellier skunks on this site, but that's one of the diseases of the modern "liberal" mind: it's almost empty, brainwashed, usually insane, and causes great problems and suffering for whole countries. Who do you think has destroyed many hundreds of businesses, smashing windows, setting them on fire, destroying hard working people's livelihoods during liberal riots the last 6+ moths? The same deranged braindead leftist vermin who hate Trump but love Biden. So why be surprised when those same vermin stink up this site as well?? However, to advocate the devil for a second, it's always surprising when people make comments about keeping discussion "on-topic". Why do you care? Is there nothing better to do on this earth than to come to this site just to make a comment about "off-topic" discussions?? And of course, that one comment about keeping things on-topic will cause several pages of off-topic discussions... |

|
Oct-04-20 | | Pedro Fernandez: My dear <Sokrates>, what's up! You and my great <AylerKupp> have abandoned me. No reply me, no nothing! LOL!
Great greetings for you two!
PS. BTW, I really regreat the serious impasse among my great friends <Big Pawn> and <perfidious>, where the former threw a furious attack against the latter. I'm ignorant about what's going on. I do hope that this unfortunate impasse be overcome, where rationality, maturity, understanding, reflection and brotherhood prevail. It is not fair that, given the cleverness and quality of these two persons, don't finish in something good, positive! |
|
Oct-04-20 | | Pedro Fernandez: <Aylerkupp> is so modest that he does not gave me time to formally request PASS GNU certification.
Given the strong character, our great friend <Scarlett> possesses, it is possible that this person had wanted the creation of this little congregation, but... who knows! |
|
Oct-04-20 | | Sokrates: Dear <Pedro>,
You must be joking about <AylerKupp> and me not responding to your posts. I hope you and your family are well and stay clear of all pandemic evils. I wouldn't know about the attack you mention since <the former> is on my ignore list. But I am sure <perfidious> is thick-skinned when it comes to vitriolic attacks. In a perfect world your notions about humanity should be the norm. The lamb and the lion and all that. Unfortunately, these times we witness the opposite in many countries, where opposite viewpoints lead to personal attacks and mutual demonisations. I, myself, cannot live up to your high standards of embracing nearly everyone here. For the sake of my blood pressure and mental health I have to exclude those who - viewed from my chair - do nothing but spreading all sorts of hatred and extremism. True, more than ever the world needs dialogue instead of polarisation, facts instead of lies, but we seem to have gone into a post-science age, where people don't adjust their opinions to facts, but twist facts so that they correspond with their opinions. I don't have the greatness to do anything about that. I regard the latter as hopeless cases, and I don't want to waste a second trying to convince them, since they only want to stay comfortably in their echo chambers. Enough of that.
Much more important in the context of CG is the fact that the tournament pages have been stone dead since the 6th round of this tournament. The Norway Altibox is starting very soon and the maintainers of CG seem to be totally absent. The obligation of updating the chessworld for CG members doesn't seem to be regarded as paramount, and that is sad. |
|
Oct-04-20 | | Pedro Fernandez: My great <Sokrates>, what a kind of man are you! Of course that in my post I was joking (but, unfortunately, in my PS, I don't). My friend, I think, that currently, your mouth is more loose, than before, but I don't know why, or do you think am I wrong? I think you opine with more ''freedom'', which is for me amazing! Your reply, which it I really appreciate, is so large that I need to read more deeply. I realize that to be Sunday, you wake up very early. Don't you think that to be so young you should sleep a little more? It's 2:30 am here, but I'm drinking. If you like Scotch, I recommend you Buchannans 12, the 18 is very smooth and scratches you. Cheers |

I regard the latter as hopeless cases, and I don't want to waste a second trying to convince them, since they only want to stay comfortably in their echo chambers....> This polarisation is easier than ever to attain in a world featuring social media which enable everyone, at a moment's notice, to post statements and views which can last for good and all, and as you state, very often seek reinforcement of like-minded souls rather than a healthy exchange of ideas, which in my mind tends to lead to one's own opinions becoming holy writ--by the inner workings of some, anyway! |
|
Oct-04-20 | | Sokrates: Dear <Pedro>,
I am glad you see something in my posts, I may not see myself. Haven't tasted a Buchannans, but it sounds appealing, particularly the older casks. I have been very fond of Ardbeg's Uigeadail of late - love smoked whiskys. |
|
Oct-04-20 | | Sokrates: Well phrased, dear <perfidious>. I completely agree with you. There is no other enlightenment compared to the one you receive when among friends who freely contradict you, widen your horizon and eventually add grains of wisdom to your never settling curiosity and openness. |
