19 games, 1949 - 6th USA Championship Tournament, New York 1946
Samuel Reshevsky won this tournament, his fifth victory in five tries (He missed the 1944 US Championship)! Twenty players participated, but Lewis J Isaacs withdrew before 50% of the rounds were played and his results were not counted in the final standings. Many games need to be uploaded. Today (April 27, 2008) I uploaded Horowitz-Rothman from round eight (1-0).

Vladimir Alatortsev (1909-1987) was one of the best Soviet players during the 1930's and 1940's. However, he was overshadowed in nearly every event by Botvinnik, and his games have not been given much attention. After World War II, Alatortsev decreased his participation in tournaments, and turned his focus on training, particularly with future World Champion Smyslov. In subsequent years, he became involved with administration as well and he served as president of the USSR Chess Federation.
