chessgames.com: <sea otter: <chessgames.com> why was one of my Nov. 10 music links deleted? ? What possible reason could you have? Seriously?>

Offramp has a point but as you probably know, links to music are tolerated at the Kibitzer's Café.

So I honestly don't know what you're speaking of, but out of curiosity I pulled up the logfiles from the past 7 days to see if any 'sea otter' posts were deleted. I found quite a few of them, but you were the one who deleted them all.

If you are absolutely positive you did not do this, then the only plausible explanation I can think of is that somebody used your device that was signed into CG when you weren't looking and deleted them that way. More likely, you just accidentally deleted the wrong post, or something like that.

We haven't gotten any complaints about improper music in a long time.

WannaBe: Have anyone (else) experienced this:

I would click on a link here, even today, where there's no live game, and it would just sit there, my cursor would just spin and spin and spin.

Eventually the page will display after 15-20 seconds. (SQL query/answer/page rendering issue?)

Been happening probably around/after game 1 of the World Championship Match, where some thing was changed by Daniel, because the whole site was slow then, even after game 1 was over.

Annie K.: There was a spot earlier today when the site returned an overload message for a kibitzing search. There was probably a DDOS attack going on, didn't last very long though.

Nov-23-16  zanzibar: Clear the docket - late breaking news!

A twelve page ruling, so maybe it took a little while to type up...

Nov-28-16  positionalgenius: <CG> Impressive work on the WCC index, and here's to an epic game 12 of the current match.

However I noticed that the candidates tournament for the 2004 Kramnik-Leko match isn't linked,Dortmund 2002.in fact I couldn't find a collection of those games anywhere. Maybe create a page for that tourney and link it to the Kramnik-Leko page?

FSR: <CG> I trust you're aware that Mark Taimanov died earlier today? I sent you an e-mail many hours ago, but you didn't acknowledge it, so maybe you didn't see it. He should surely be Player of the Day for tomorrow. I also advocate making the Taimanov Sicilian the Opening of the Day, the position after 38.Rb1 in Karpov vs Taimanov, 1977 the POTD, and maybe Taimanov vs Polugaevsky, 1960 GOTD.

You should repost this over at the Biographer's Bistro as well:

If you get <Tab's> ear in there you might get some traction on this.

FSR: I nominate the final rapid game in the world championship match for tomorrow's GOTD, under the title "Sacking the Queen for the Crown."
Dec-01-16  SimplicityRichard: <FSR> I agree, but was thinking that "Queen Down for the Crown" is more precise and catchier.#
Dec-01-16  SimplicityRichard: "Queen Down for the Crown" contains a catchy alliteration. Nevertheless, either will do.#

Tabanus: <CG> Karl Ruben has 24 games and played in 4 olympiads, but when searching for "Ruben" or "Karl", he does not turn up.

Searching for "Karl Ruben" finds him though. But no search finds H Ruben.
