cu8sfan: Credits from the ChessBookie Game Help Page: <Original concept by Daniel Freeman, inspired by "The Prediction Game" organized by Chessgames users cu8sfan and lostemperor.>

Thank you, <chessgames.com>. I feel deeply honored. Just to put things straight, I did not really invent the prediction game, it was rather thrust upon me.

Some kibitzers started posting predictions for individual rounds during (I think) the Russian Championships (2004). I got curious and wanted to know how good we were doing so I started to add it all up and posted results. During the Drammen International Chess Festival (2004) predictions again started to pop up and someone (I think it was <acirce>) said something about me keeping score again. So that's what I did and the rest is history. I'm glad y'all like the game.

cu8sfan: <My question is who is User: pele?> Good question. He's never kibitzed and only joined a couple of days ago yet he still must have contributed something to the bookie project. I can't remember if I've seen him amongst the testers or not.

Yeah, as long as they keep playing against outfielders who look like the 3 Stooges and have 10 dink hits that barely roll through the infield. I'm not bitter, really, I'm not.

LIFE Master AJ: I apologize if you took offense to what I said earlier. (On the CG forum.)

However, I never considered you a fan, on my page, you seemed to rather enjoy "A.J. Bashing." (Should I quote some of your own posts?)

And the simple fact was that was a question that I posted for the CG staff, and I wanted an answer from them.

  cu8sfan: <LIFE Master AJ> Apology accepted.

I like to help out other kibitzers if I know the answer to their questions. Maybe I shouldn't do so on the cg.com user forum as people would like to hear an official answer. I apologize.

No need to quote my own posts, I know what I wrote. The fact that I'm not a fan of yours doesn't mean I can't help you with your questions.

Apr-06-06  Bobak Zahmat: <cu8sfan> How are you doing? I had one question, when does the MTel tournament start? I can't wait anymore! :)
Apr-06-06  YouRang: <cu8sfan> Say, are you planning to run your prediction contest for Mtel, or do your figure that ChessBookie has taken over? :-)

<Bobak Zahmat> I thought Mtel was sometime in early May -- about a month from now.

Apr-06-06  Bobak Zahmat: Thanks <YouRang>. By the way, what is the <ChessBookie>?
Apr-06-06  YouRang: <Bobak Zahmat> A new betting/prediction game recently introduced by <chessgames.com>. Do you see it referenced on the home page and at the bottom of each page ("ChessBookie Game") ChessBookie Introduction

Maybe it's something that only Premium members see, although I thought that chessgames.com was going to make it available to all initially.

cu8sfan: <when does the MTel tournament start?> It starts on MAY-10. Here's the official web page: http://www.mtelmasters06.com/.

<are you planning to run your prediction contest for Mtel> Absolutely! These games are still rather different and as long as someone's participating I'll do it. The main difference here is that everything's public and as this one is 'only' about fame and glory people might predict a little more on the risky side.

<I thought that chessgames.com was going to make it available to all initially.> I hope it will always be available to all. Drives the handle up. Even though I am a PM I don't want everything to be just for us or else this is going to be a small, incestuous community.

Do you see it referenced on the home page and at the bottom of each page ("ChessBookie Game") ChessBookie Introduction> I can see it, thanks, but first I did not really know the purpose of it.

<cu8sfan> Well, MTel has a great website, I am looking forward for this great tournament.

I noticed your predictions-competition seems to have been usurped, or is it you behind the new bookies?

LIFE Master AJ: BTW, I suggested a game like "chess bookie" on ICC close to 10 years ago. (The only other game they used to run was this putrid trivia thing, I was bored to death with that.)
