May-10-06  pawn52: <cu8sfan> Honestly don't know. It's possible I can get going on one, but finals are coming up, so it may not be worth my time for the time being. I'll let you know when I am capable of playing with no school interference ;)

cu8sfan: <WannaBe> Having seen the lineup I definitely am going to include Biel to this years' cycle. Check out my post on the 38th Biel Chess Festival (2005) page. Naturally, Biel is one of my favorites. I wish I could play this year.

BEST PREDICTORS (2 for 3):
MrMojoRisin, Tassadar, yalie, YouRang(!)

There were 17(!) people who went 0-for-3. (Note: largely because there were 12 people who predicted all draws -- of course all games were decided.)

BIGGEST PAYOFF GAMES (fewest correct predictions):
$8.75,Topalov-Anand[0-1]
Predicted by: dimradil + MrMojoRisin + Tassadar + VishyFan

$7.00,Kamsky-Bacrot[1-0]
Predicted by: Joshka + radu stancu + VargPOD + yalie + YouRang

May-13-06  like a GM: Congrats to <Joshka> and <suenteus po 147>! How did you "know" that?
May-13-06  suenteus po 147: <like a GM> I figured out back at Corus that Kamsky had discerned some edge against Anand and would somehow exploit it this last round. I was lucky to be right. USA! USA!
May-13-06  like a GM: <suenteus po 147: Kamsky had discerned some edge against Anand and would somehow exploit it this last round> So you can participate at our discussion Viswanathan Anand.

cu8sfan: Apparently there was something wrong with the initial pairings. So please post predictions for today if you haven't done so already.

If you have posted predictions for the whole tournament you don't have to do anything. <YouRang>'s contest manager will just take today's pairings from a later round and use the initial pairings for this round later on.

The wrong pairings you posted today or yesterday will be taken for a later round. If you want to change them just post again for later rounds.

Hope this is all clear. <YouRang> Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

cu8sfan: <me to play: Umm...what happened? I have been away today and all the rd 4 results are different match-ups than the pairings on which I based my predictions !??> It's very unfortunate but someone noticed that the official page had switched the pairings from round 4 and 5. I'm very sorry if you were unable to repost your predictions.

cu8sfan: Some stats you don't want to miss:

• Only two players have scored 100% in a single round so far. Both did it in round 1.

• Round two was the low point when more than 50% of us scored 0 points.

• As a group we scored best in round 3 with a performance of 1.4/3 = 48%.

• For the whole tournament we have a performance of 38%. This compares to 39% for Linares and 48% for Wijk.

• Mass-Predictor, the guy who predicts what the majority predicts, has a score of 4.

• The game with the most predictions for a white win was Anand-Kamsky. The game ended 0-1.

• The game with the most predictions for a draw was Kamsky-Bacrot. The game ended 1-0.

• The game with the most predictions for a black win was Bacrot-Topalov. The game ended 1/2-1/2.

And to explain my last comment to <lostemperor>: I found out that he and <cromat> have made the same predictions for all rounds so far. However I do suspect that it's only a coincidence as there are some rounds where one was first to post and others where the other was first.
