Apr-12-19

Apr-12-19
 | | moronovich: God evening <virginmind> ! Just to say that I wish you all the best for the upcoming weekend.
Here its fish and golf from Augusta,Masters,USA. And what a performance from Magnus who seems to be very safe a the driver seat for the moment.Just a class of hi own,but I also hope that someone will come and challenge him…. It was great to win The Bookiegame and the fulfilling of an old dream. So for the moment I rest on the laurels and enjoy NOT to play :) Wife will stay home and have free for work because of Easter which means a rather different life compared to the daily one.And that is ok too. In 14 days my little sister will leave USA were she lives and come and visit us for a couple of days. That we are looking forward to,as we haven´t seen each other for around 4 years ): That was it.I am getting hungry, but looking forward to hear from you again. HOKA HEY |
| Apr-13-19 | | virginmind: Hi, another weekend facing us and it's morose outside but who cares as long as human beings can still enjoy life? We've been visiting relatives in Onesti and it's been fine, mostly, although I had a bit of cold. Changing the air was always beneficial to me.
Of course Carlsen was tremendous in the latest tournament and he got again over 2860 ELO, so we may expect someday he will cross the 2900, why not? Grenke will start soon, so more fun on the way. Health is pretty good. Listening to the birds songs around and it's mostly springtime feeling, although a tad cold lately. Wishing you both an excellent fin de semaine. |
| Apr-14-19 | | virginmind: Lupulescu is first in Rejkjavik Open with 5.5/6 points, after beating Movsesian. Today he plays against Alireza Firouzja. Good luck!. |
Apr-14-19
 | | moronovich: Good morning and good luck today to Lupulescu ! Directly from my brunch :) |
| Apr-14-19 | | virginmind: Wow, great win by Constantin Lupulescu, consolidating first place after 7 rounds! Looks like Alireza fell for black's preparation. Also, Parligras won his game, so good day for the Romanian players in Iceland! :) |
| Apr-15-19 | | Bureaucrat: God påske! |
Apr-15-19
 | | moronovich: Tak <Bureaucrat> Også du ønskes en god påske ! |
| Apr-15-19 | | morfishine: Dear <moronovich> How did you like that Masters? Pretty exciting stuff! Great to see Tiger win a major again! |
| Apr-15-19 | | virginmind: Although Lupulescu lost to Gawain Jones, he'll play first board in the final round against Parligras (who won his game today). Ha ha, good luck to both, somehow! All the best to you, <moronovich>, and looking forward to Grenke... |
Apr-15-19
 | | moronovich: Dear <morfishine> ! Yes,saw the finish(and the 3 other days),which indeed was exciting stuff.
Said to my wife,on thursday that Molinari would take the green jacket, but a Tiger crossed his plans (and a lake, twice;).A great comeback for Woods who have been through such hard times....And how cleverly he handled the last holes."Safe" and with timely aggression-kind of Carlsen style :) What is a year without Augusta ?
Would rather miss the Christmas duck! |
Apr-15-19
 | | moronovich: Hi <virginmind> ! Will cross my fingers tomorrow and have a look at the games,if I´ll find the times. Some spring cleaning in the house, before my sister arrives :) All the best to you(and Maria as well)and thanks for reminding me about Grenke.Had almost forgot it.Still resting on the bookielaurels I guess :) |
| Apr-15-19 | | morfishine: Dearest <moronovich> I must disagree with you. I would never give up the Christmas Duck, ever I've prepared a few of them over the years and there is no substitute And though the Masters is exciting and I watch it every year, I disagree with such a small field. There are too many highly ranked players around the world that are always left out, year after year... Great tournament to watch though! |
Apr-16-19
 | | moronovich: Hi <morf> !
You certainly didn´t duck my claim :)
A close call it it/was for me,and please dont tell my wife...There is some magic in Augusta to me.The tradition, the golf course in it self. The weather, the fast and difficult greens and so on. But respect to the Christmas duck.I love it.And you are the one playing golf your self. That sounds great. But I never had the occasion ): |
Apr-16-19
 | | moronovich: Hi again dear <morfishine> ! As you are so connected with WW1 and WW2,I shall hereby recommend "Green fields of France" performed by The Fureys. Very moving and may aquire a kleenex or
two.. |

Apr-19-19
 | | moronovich: Thanks <WinKing> ! |
| Apr-19-19 | | WinKing: Your welcome <moronovich>. |
| Apr-21-19 | | virginmind: Happy Easter, <moronovich>, in case you're a Catholic, which you should - or am I wrong and the Protestants also celebrate Easter today? Anyhow, we, the Orthodox bunch, will have Easter only next Sunday. Today we have that celebration called Florii here (my father got his name after it), I forgot the correspondent in the Catholic realm - which you should had it a week ago...
And all this because some priests got angry against each others some one thousand years ago and decided they should split prayers and churches. What about the recent calls for a reconciliation (I forgot how it's called), and I think the present Pope is involved. What do you think, any chance for it to actually happen during our lifetime? Not that it wouldn't be timely appropriated - 1000 years. Anyway, back to...Grenke and a very tough fight by Keymer against none other than Carlsen! Great! The youth nowadays seem poised to assure us we will have a fine time watching their games in the next years. Bye bye. |
Apr-21-19
 | | moronovich: Hi <virginmind > ! Hey man,I was just going to write you !
Mainly because CG and me want to know if the email address stored at CG is the right one aka still working...because I want to send you my gift certificate I won in the bookiegame.I dont need any new chessbooks, boards or simular stuff. So please,I hope you will accept and can use it ! So please if you will respond quickly on this matter... In Denmark we are mostly protestants, but the average dane(if such one exists)is one who typically approaches God in his/hers own way and dont go to the curch that often. But in general the church is respected and both directions go well along each other. Personally I have a deep belief in God and Jesus too,but I am not member of the church so there you go :) And no,I dont think there will be a reconsillation. Many people have a tendency to fight for the believes and forget to feel compassion for the neighbour who often has another belief. Perhaps school kids should learn about projections !? See you my friend and may you enjoy the
easter ! |
| Apr-21-19 | | virginmind: A gift certificate? Well, thank you very much, you are being kind. And congratulations once again to have won it in the bookiegame! Yes, I have the same e-mail address. I see, I think I should have known that the Scandinavians are mostly protestants. And you are right, what matters (or should) in the first place is the sympathy, compassion for the neighbour, and not the form and place in which one expresses it. I don't go to church much either, Maria though attends the prayers on Sundays rather constantly. It's her choice and her feeling and of course we tolerate each other's prefferences in this respect. Will follow today France-Romania tennis semifinal in the Fed Cup, it could be decisive as it's 1-1 so far. Hugs. |
| Apr-21-19 | | virginmind: Wow, only now I read in the bookie forum - a 100$ gift certificate to be used at chessgames shop! Thank you again my friend! Most appreciated and I hope I'll be able to return the kindness to you someday. |
