 | | stevemcd87: Hello <Tab>, sorry for the delayed response.
That game has been added.
Thanks! |
|
Feb-23-21
 | | Tabanus: <Steve> Thanks. It was another GM draw. Btw I think you can safely remove the game-centered code saying that these "duplicates" should not be added! |
|
Feb-24-21
 | | MissScarlett: I've noticed that since [PlyCount] became automated when uploading a game (one that didn't need to be manually entered), it always rounds the number up. For instance, if a game has 49 ply, it will become 50. This isn't a huge problem because it will correctly show as a 25 move game, but surely this glitch can be corrected. |
|
Feb-26-21
 | | MissScarlett: I submitted a game, the upload was processed successfully but the game didn't show up. Only then did I notice that the result tag wasn't filled in (left as <*>). However subsequent attempts to reload the corrected game have been unsuccessful. I assume this is because the system recognises the game and is rejecting duplicates, so it's now effectively being held in limbo. The game is Blackburne - Beningfield. |

 | | stevemcd87: Hello <MissS>,
The game has been added. Blackburne vs G Beningfield, 1880 |
|
Feb-26-21
 | | stevemcd87: <MissS>, It seems you may have forgotten to "Update Submissions" before trying to process.
It shows your last few attempts were empty.
I'll try to add some sort of alert for the user when possible.

 | | MissScarlett: <Merging games is to transfer all the kibitzing an collections from the bad game to the good game.> Can you merge an odds game (minus a piece) with a standard one? Also, what's happened with allowing null moves? |

 | | MissScarlett: Where is everybody!? This place is like a ghost town. #tumbleweedcentral There's a Tal-Seltzer game stuck in the pipes. Please unbock. |

 | | MissScarlett: I just realised the problem: Tal-Seltzer was already in the DB. It's a shame Tal didn't win the game, because I could have used <Tal KO Seltzer>. |

Mar-05-21
 | | Tabanus: Someone added >100 games to the European Championship (2000), and then I added >100 more games to it. Ending up with 329 games, hopefully without duplicates! Evgeni Ellinovich Sveshnikov ended 32nd (with 6,5/11) but I read somewhere he did not want to publish his games. His games are indeed missing (I don't know yet who he played against, except a draw vs Sax). Standings table as default, please? |

 | | stevemcd87: <Can you merge an odds game (minus a piece) with a standard one?>
We can merge any game with any other game(use with caution), the PGN from the good gid will be used.
<Also, what's happened with allowing null moves?>
[bad chessgames.com link]
Currently, the game page breaks for games without a valid eco, I will see how we can work around that(I wasn't able to figure out a "quick fix").
Once we get the eco matter sorted, we will only be able to use pgn4web to view the games with null moves; both, Olga and Aria(Olga2), considers them invalid pgn.
I'll reach out to <Olga Viewer> to see what he thinks about the matter.
<Standings table as default, please?>
I'm trying to avoid changing default settings to prevent issues with automated processes I may not be aware of.
I'll try to add a feature for us to have the ability to add a table, some time next week. |
|
Mar-05-21
 | | Tabanus: Ok... in case you don't know, it's possible to click on the Pocal symbol to switch between standings table and list of players. In general, swisses and round robins should have standings table, and ko's and team events should have list of players. The standings tables can be manipulated by an editor (e. g. instead of correcting wrong game results), but I've never done that, at least not knowingly, except for adding points for walk-overs or missing games. |

Mar-08-21
 | | Stonehenge: It would be nice if we could update the site/location in the tournament editor. |
|
Mar-08-21
 | | Tabanus: And EventDate perhaps. For example the games of European Championship (2001) have EventDate 2001.06.05, should be 2001.06.01. |
|
Mar-09-21
 | | Stonehenge: And tid merging would be nice.
And beer and pizza :) |
|
Mar-10-21
 | | stevemcd87: I will begin working on the ability to update site/location and EventDate for the tournament editor, I'll have this up for you by tomorrow.
After, I'll start on the tournament merging feature, this task should be completed by this weekend.
I'll keep you up-to-date on progress.
Thanks for your patience. |
|
Mar-10-21
 | | stevemcd87: <Stone>, can you please give me an example of what you would like to update for testing.
From what I understand, you would like to be able to update the Site tag to every PGN in a given tournament, let me know if I misunderstood.<Tab>, I noticed the date for European Championship (2001) is 2001.06.01 but looking at the games` pgn it shows <[EventDate "2001.06.05"]>
I'm assuming you would like to be able to update all EventDate tags for any given tournament.
Let me know if I misunderstood. |
|
Mar-10-21
 | | Tabanus: <Steve> Yes, Round 1 was 1 June and I'd like to change to <[EventDate "2001.06.01"]> for all the games. Assuming that "EventDate" is the date of the first round, but I'm only 90% sure of that! :) |
|
Mar-11-21
 | | Tabanus: On merging tids: some of the tids have wrong game dates (rarely wrong round number), so that one may have to click through all the games. Example: EU-ch 3rd (2002) (which is the games of Georgian players) had all the games dated 12 June. 99 games were easier to click through than say 999 games. |
|
Mar-11-21
 | | Stonehenge: <Steve>
Yes, that's what I meant.
See World Junior Championship (Boys) (2005) All games have Instanbul instead of Istanbul. |
|
Mar-11-21
 | | Stonehenge: <tids>
Problematic is stuff like this:
Dortmund (1981) and Dortmund (1992). Somehow we should be able to merge the 1981 games from 11777 with 91578.
Of course they can be done one by one, but I'd rather not. |
