This:
<better is 7...a6 8.?d3 h6 9.?ge2 ?h7 10.?g3 ?e8 11.?f3 ?f6 ? +0.57 (34 ply)> implies it has testing for that position at 34-ply. This:

Let me know if you spot any other instances I could use for testing.> Before you closed for maintenance, I tested these two positions in the Opening Explorer. I used the max, 1 hour/250 fuel, but they didn't really seem to update. While I didn't record what the previous lines were, it either updated very little (1 ply or so more) or just completely skipped it. Pos-1
Opening Explorer Pos-2
Opening Explorer Pos-3, I tested for 1 hour, the day before, and it seemed to work. It has the
more expected 39-ply depth vs the other two mid twenty, to low mid twenty, search depth. Pos-3

 | | stevemcd87: <MissS> The problem was that the Game's "tid"(Tournament ID) was invalid, it must've accidentally been updated.
I updated the tid to a random P&2 game( Casual game (1852) ) to get it to work.
While debugging, I also updated Sanders to NN. Lasker vs NN, 1920
Feel free to update the game to its correct data.
Sorry for the delay. |

 | | stevemcd87: <diceman> I was able resolve the "No Analysis" issue, at least in the cases you mentioned(move 7).
It had something to do with an opening explorer node it was linked to.
Let me know if you run into any other instances.I reevaluated Pos-1 and it updated to look similar to Pos-2.
I will be searching through the database for "obvious" discrepancies so we can reevaluate them.
It seems one way to tell for 1-hour evaluations is to check for 3 variations.
I believe the analysis is working well enough to go public.
I will be doing the final touch ups tomorrow to put it live.
Please continue to let me know of any odd behavior.
Thanks for the help. |

 | | Stonehenge: Steve, can you please delete this tid 169997 and its games [bad tournament link]. Something went wrong with changing Marcel Becker to Marc Becker. Speaking of which, I uploaded the games with the name Marc Becker but the software assumed that it was Marcel. I've seen this nonsense all too often here.
Assuming that Marriott is Mariotti, that Casa is the same player as Casafus, Norris the same as Norri, Dudas the same as Duda, Pilnik the same as Pilnick etc. Please look into this. |

Oct-11-21
 | | stevemcd87: <MissS> Games Like B Schneider vs W Kraft, 2000 : I'll have to append this to the "look into" list.
Re Merged Games:
There was a bug in the editor page that was resolved.
NN vs B Lasker, 1881 Game Collections looks fine to me. The process only removes duplicates. I noticed a collection from <fredthebear> that had both games in it, one noted "zanzibar's notes"(showing the importance of merging the comments as well). In this case, the system removes the bad game from the collection.
I noticed another collection with the bad game in it and it was updated to the good game.<Tab> I noticed that some events automatically removes the crosstable. I just found the script that is responsible for this change and will get back to you. Priorities for this week(and next week, most likely) are the Gameloader and Gameloader post-scripts(understanding the magic behind the scenes that is supposed to keep up with a player's notable tournaments, opening/repertoire explorer, etc...).
First step, Gameloader:
Perhaps we can upgrade the Uploader to process the games one at a time.
Example,Let's say there is a list of 10 games to be uploaded.
When the system uploads the first game, the "game edit form" will pop up to show us the newly created game. At this point we can edit, force(for duplicates), and/or confirm the newly created game.
After a confirmation, The processor will go to the next game.
I'm sure we can upgrade this feature further as time goes on.
What do you think? I'm open for suggestions.
If it sounds good, I'll begin working on it. |
|
Oct-11-21
 | | Stonehenge: I sometimes upload hundreds of games at once. I don't want to get a pop up after every game. An exception I will make for duplicates. There we need a pop up asking if we want to force the game in or delete it. |

<Stephen>
I agree with <Stonehenge> and I would say exactly this as well: <...I don't want to get a pop up after every game. An exception I will make for duplicates. There we need a pop up asking if we want to force the game in or delete it.> ========
Also, the uploader is working fine right now as far as I can see- what is happening with the "fix" for our games collections? I have not seen any "fixes" for the coding disaster on the hundreds of collections I have made. Where is <beatgiant>? Is he still working on this? If worse comes to worse I will edit them by hand but every day that goes by I have less and less confidence that anything will ever be done about this. |

 | | Tabanus: Agree with Stone and jess on the game upload.
<jess> Why not. He first fixed the kibitzing, then the bios. It's only a week since he started on the game collections, I'm sure he will deliver. He has to :) |
|
Oct-12-21
 | | Tabanus: <Steve> Thanks for that explanation! That script seems to hit mostly the events from about 2005-2010. It hits for example Reykjavik Open (2010), but (to my surprise) not Reykjavik Open (2009). If a script here is necessary at all, what about having it run only on events that have no bio text, and/or on those events where the standings table is not edited. |
