Apr-10-24  Messiah: <stevemcd87: <Messiah> There seems to be a few users getting the <Incorrect username or password> error. We are now logging additional info(browser, device, etc...) to help debug this issue. Please let us know when you have tried again so we can look into it. Thanks for the help and sorry for the inconvenience.>

OK, noted. GF nags me to go over, so I guess I'll not test it today, either. Or, if she's ready for a debugging session (I'd be quite surprised), then maybe.

Apr-10-24  Messiah: Anyway, I tried it once, at 17:29 UTC (three minutes earlier than NOW, practically). You can see the browser and everything, I guess. Apart from '\* [dot] googletagmanager [dot] com', scripts were enabled. It failed. Now I'll try it from chromium: just dropping this kibitz in case I close myself out.

I believe the easiest way to settle this is to email us at <chess@chessgames.com> and request a password reset. We will give you a temporary password for you to login with, then you can reset your password. It's been working so far. Sorry for the inconvenience... no rush.

juan31: <stevemcd87> When trying to enter by iphone, I was asked for a confirmation code that was sent to me by email, I received it,and this time it did not allow me to enter the password.

I understand that changes may be necessary, my question is if I could facilitate the entry in a simple way It is still not possible to enter with the iPad, as I requested yesterday, I know you understand that working all day with a computer and not being able to use an iPad to rest and see my favorite site for 17 years is not pleasant. Thanks in advance for your attention and solution.

Sorry for the delay. I sent you an email regarding your issue.

Re TOURNAMENT STANDINGS for World Championship Candidates (2024) :
I'm going to reset it as if it never has been edited so we don't need to manually update all the standings. When the live game results aren't being reflected on the table, we can just use the editor page to update the game(without making any edits) for the results to be processed. I will get this fixed soon so we won't need to do that either.

I'm happy to hear your able to use your phone to enter. Are you now able to enter with your iPad as well?
You should be seeing additional debugging messages(in orange) when visiting the Sign-in Page. Let me know if you do not. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We've made an update to the Sign-in Page that should have resolved the issue of some users wrongfully receiving the <Incorrect username or password> message. It will ask you to create a new password. Please let us know if you run into any issues.

We are aware of below issues and will get to them as soon as possible:
- <Recent Visitors:> not showing as much as it used to.
- Signing in takes a couple of attempts when using a VPN.
- Signing in not working on an iPad.

<juan31>
We've made an update that should show the debugging messages, in orange. Well, at least the first one.
- When first arriving on the Sign-in Page, you should see the <Additional debugging messages are on> message, in orange text, on the top of the page.
- After a few seconds, you should then see <Additional meta-data were logged. Time to try to sign in>. If you do not see this message, there may be a problem with your browser/device and the code written but please proceed to the next step anyway.
-You should now see 2 sign-in buttons, please click the second one labeled <Sign-In 2>.
- Upon clicking the <Sign-In 2> button, you should then see the <Sign-in button was clicked.> message and hopefully be redirected to the home page a few seconds later.

Please let us know if you do not receive any of the debugging messages mentioned above.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

juan31: <stevemcd87> I use your instructions on a laptop, without problem. The orange message came up on the iPad, I couldn't enter, it's a shame, before the changes I did it without problems, I'll take the iPad to be checked. Thank you

I see additional logs for your laptop and for your phone but not your iPad. You must only get the <Additional debugging messages are on> message but not the <Additional meta-data were logged. Time to try to sign in> message you're supposed to get a few seconds later, when using your iPad.

Your iPad may not support the jQuery code used to sign-in, which is very odd. I did a quick google search and one person mentioned a similar problem was because his Safari browser was set to private mode. Perhaps you can check if that's the case with you.

We will be making another update to the page tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We also added code to let the user know if their javascript isn't enabled, which may be the problem also. If this is the case you should see a <For full functionality of this site it is necessary to enable JavaScript...> message at the top of the screen. Sorry for the inconvenience.

jnpope: I submitted four games, saw them in the queue, processed them, but nothing appears to have happened other than those games disappearing from the queue.

I even went back and tried the games individually and the same issue... submitted, they go into the queue, I click on process, they vanish without anything actually occurring.

Is anyone else having processing issues?

jnpope: At this point I'm guessing the cloud caching is an issue (based on the fact that the homepage <Recent Kibitzing> content hasn't changed since at least this, Biographer Bistro (kibitz #29230), was posted in the bistro.
