The 2018 King Salman FIDE Women's World Blitz Championship was a 17-round Swiss open taking place in St. Petersburg, Russia from 29-30 December. The prize fund was $150,000, with $40,000 for 1st place. Time control: 3 minutes per player for all the moves, with a 2-second increment per move from move 1. Dec-30-18  sonia91: Just like her childhood friend Sergey Karjakin two years ago, after finishing as runner-up in the classical world championship, Kateryna Alexandrovna Lahno wins the blitz championship.

Sarasadat Khademalsharieh manages to win the silver medal both in the King Salman Rapid World Championship (Women) (2018) and the blitz championship, great performance by her!

Tingjie Lei takes the bronze medal, after winnnig the silver in the women's rapid championhip last year.
