ALEKSA STRIKOVIC

Strikovic won the 1992 Championship of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He was runner up at International Opens in Damiano De Odemira in 2005 and in Calvia in 2006, and then won the International Open in Malaga in 2010. He also won the City of Gaia International Tournament and the Pedro Lezcano Montalvo Memorial Tournament, both in 2010.

Strikovic has also won over 40 open tournaments played in Spain over the last 20 years, most of them played in rapid time format. These are listed at the following link: Aleksa Strikovic.

He also lives in Spain.

Apr-30-04  Vischer: I still don't know if aleksa strikovic is a boy or a girl; I asked that before but the kibitzing got deleted I think when Strikovic aleksa and A strikovic and stuff got put together with aleksa strikovic. Anybody know if this player is male or female?

Aug-30-13  blackburne: No es que pueda dar detalles por haberlo leído en algún libro, es que lo he visto con mis propios ojos ya que le he visto ganar torneos en directo en más de 10 ocasiones. Lo del póker es de dominio público, ya que lo hacen muchos GM que juegan en España en los Open.

Aug-30-13  blackburne: ... y faltan muchas de sus victorias, ya que en los años 90 y principios de siglo muchas no quedaron registradas. También ha ganado algún torneo en Portugal, aunque no he encontrado nada al respecto. No pongo las fuentes ya que quedaría demasiado largo y lioso.

You indicate that many of these are rapids. Do you know which are standard time tournaments, and which are rapid/blitz tournaments?

I understand that the great majority if not all of the tournament victories you listed are in Spain.

Aug-30-13  blackburne: Salvo el Open Damiano y Vila de Baio, el resto son en España 100% confirmado. Varias de ellas se jugaron en la región de Galicia, donde se habla gallego y eso te ha podido confundir.

Diría que ninguno son blitz. Las rápidas suelen ser de 25 min o 30 min, porque son torneos que duran un sólo día. Aunque también hay varias en Open de más de una semana de duración... buscar los datos de los más de 40 torneos me parece demasiada tarea.
