Round five was a bit of a shocker winning a fine game against his opponent there. Most where well played games except the bloodless draw on the last round
Aug-01-06   mamun001: does anyone know why performed so poorly in the Olympiad after such spectacular performance in the national championship?

pawnofdoom: My guess is just that everyone has their lucky tournaments and their unlucky tournaments. It happens to me all the time. After a loss of maybe about 30 points in one tournament, I went to another tournament in one week and gained about 100 points (with a spectacular performance)

Another example is Ivanchuk. He was second seed in the Tal Memorial, but he ended the tournament witha minus score, and second to last. But just a few days later, he went to participate in the World Blitz Cup, and he just won it today!
