May-26-19  thegoodanarchist: I was going to submit a <Jaws> pun, but didn't see any player with the last name Sharky or Sharkey

And why no STAR TREK puns? Aren't STAR WARS and STAR TREK basically the same thing?

May-26-19  Robed.Bishop: <tga> While I certainly can’t speak for <CG>, in some forums stating that Star Wars and Star Trek are “basically the same thing” would be fightin’ words. It might be best if you prepare to defend yourself.

Agree. That's offensive indeed.

Like comparing Poirot and Sherlock Holmes. Not good. ;p

Jun-01-19  thegoodanarchist: Hello cg.com,

At the Altibox tournament page,

Norway Chess (2019) ,

there is not a list of players yet. This is causing a great deal of concern amongst the populace of <several> small nations.

I guess I don't normally check out the tournament pages before they start, maybe only a couple of times. But my recollection is they had the lineup in place before the start.

Jun-06-19  thegoodanarchist: I am terribly sorry to interrupt the deletion of <Big Pawn>'s sock puppets, but a matter has come up.

The "Notable Games" section of Kramnik's profile is gone!

Do you know what happened? And can you restore it?? (that's the main thing - restoring his notable games).

Jun-08-19  WinKing: Need a 'LIVE' game put up for Norway Chess 2019.
Jun-09-19  sonia91: <cg.com> Can you add a forum for the currently underway <Karpov International> in Poikovsky, Russia? It's running for the 20th time this year, strong players (2700+ or former 2700+) take part, among them Vladislav Artemiev (world #10 in the lastest FIDE list).

This tournament has been covered by cg.com since its 4th edition in 2003: Tournament Index search: "karpov poikovsky"

PGNs are downloadable from TWIC: http://theweekinchess.com ("Live games"--> PGN--> RUS)

Jun-20-19  thegoodanarchist: OK, on the Botvinnik - Petrosian World Championship Match (1963) page there is a link that is supposed to go to Botvinnik's player page, instead it goes to a game he lost against Smyslov.

<Tigran Vartanovich Petrosian was born in T'bilisi, capital of the former Soviet republic of Georgia, on June 17, 1929. He earned his Grandmaster title by finishing in 5th place in the 1953 Zurich Candidates tournament (the same one won by Vasily Smyslov). Petrosian finally won the right to challenge <<<Mikhail Botvinnik broken link>>> for the 1963 World Championship match, and won by a score of 12½ to 9½.>

Chessical: Repeatedly getting the following automated response:

"ERROR: Our dedicated chess analysis server is currently overworked. (Load average = 15.09). Please try your request again in a few minutes"

Is there an issue?

Jun-26-19  WinKing: I see the 'Live Chess' sign is flashing. Will there be a game posted today? Presently there has been no game loaded into the system.
Jun-26-19  WinKing: Thanks <chessgames>! Game is up now.
