  HeMateMe: Why have a page up, if there are no games?
Feb-18-12  ooda: I think they'll just show the final rounds on the 18th and 19th <HeHateMe>. Due to start 9:30am ET which is 30 mins from now if I'm correct.

  Penguincw: Make that 17 minutes.
Feb-18-12  ooda: It looks like chessbomb will have the games.

  Penguincw: So here's the linup then:

Vassily Ivanchuk (2766)

Alexander Morozevich (2763)

Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (2747)

Alexey Shirov (2710)

Daniel Fridman (2660)

Mikhail Krasenkow (2676)

Ildar Khairullin (2638)

Igor Kovalenko (2587)

If so, it's a Category 19 (XIX) or 2693 average, right?

Feb-18-12  wordfunph: first round results:

Shirov - Khairullin 0-1

Fridman - Krasenkow 1-0

  Penguincw: So, here are the standings (ABC order):

1.Fridman 1/1 (+1 =0 -0)
1.Khairullin 1/1 (+1 =0 -0)
1.Kovalenko 1/1 (+1 =0 -0)
4.Ivanchuk 0.5/1 (+0 =1 -0)

6.Krasenkow 0/1 (+0 =0 -1)
6.Mamedyarov 0/1 (+0 =0 -1)
6.Shirov 0/1 (+0 =0 -1)

Also, if the tourney ended now, the OTHER ticket would win.

And lastly, just so that I don't forget <brankat>, it's brankat vs. NN, 1-0 in Round I.

Feb-18-12  wordfunph: after round 2:

1.5 = Chucky / Morozevich / Khairullin
1.0 = Fridman / Kovalenko / Shirov
0.5 = Krasenkow
0.0 = Mamedyarov

  Penguincw: Now the pool has to be split into thirds. :(
Feb-18-12  ooda: Wow, Mamedyarov loses in 15 moves to Khairullin in round 3!
Feb-18-12  wordfunph: <ooda> 2012 maybe the Year of KhairulLIN!
Feb-18-12  bronkenstein: Mamed missed one tricky intermediate and that was it.

PS he actually made 14 moves, and was lost in 13th.

Well we must be due for a new top SGM who's name starts with K right?

Feb-18-12  brankat: <Penguincw> <And lastly, just so that I don't forget <brankat>, it's brankat vs. NN, 1-0 in Round I.>

Much appreciated! :-)

Feb-18-12  waustad: Some notice of the ladies in Tbilisi would be nice. A rapids tournament with many of the top female players with only one draw in 2 rounds is rather fun. 15m + 6s is rather quick, but it is fun watching Pia and Maia beat up on the unguns (so far).
Feb-19-12  waustad: Congrats to Moro.
Feb-19-12  wordfunph: Alexander Morozevich --- 2012 Petrov Memorial Rapid Tournament Champion, congrats!

  Penguincw: Other than a small slip in Round 2, Morozevich was crushing from there on. Congratz!

No problem. Hehe. ;)

Feb-19-12  Shams: A lot of miniatures in this tournament. Toys, even.

  Check It Out: There are some serious train wrecks here - I love to see these guys play when their rating is not on the line.
Mar-02-12  Atking: It seems to me there is a problem, it was Petroff Memorial and no one played his defense!
