NIKOLAY SOROKIN (born Jan-19-1900, died Mar-16-1984, 84 years old) Georgia [what is this?] Nikolay Tikhonovich Sorokin was born in Kiev In 1923, he was 4-5, tied with P. Komarov, and behind Aleksandr Sergeyev (winner of the Tournament), Borís Verlinski and Veniamín Sozin , in the Tournament of Cities, held in Petrograd . In the same year, he was 2nd, behind the winner Fedir Bohatyrchuk , in the Kiev Tournament. He successfully performed in the championships of Ukraine: In 1924, he was 3rd in Kiev (National Championship of Ukraine), behind Yakov Vilner (winner of the Tournament) and Bogatyrchuk. In 1925, he was 2nd, behind Vilner, in the 2nd National Championship of Ukraine, held in Kharkov . In 1926, he was 4-6, tied with Dmitry Grigorenko and B. Shapiro, in Odessa (3rd National Championship of Ukraine), with the joint triumph of Borís Verlinski and Mikhail Marski. In 1924 he was 4th, behind Nikolai Zubarev (winner of the Tournament), Lev Travin and Solomon Slonim , in the Cities Tournament, held in Moscow. He played for the Georgian Championship: In 1928, he achieved victory, together with Viktor Goglidze , in the 1st National Championship of Georgia, held in Tbilisi, and 1947 - 1-2nd, 1951 - 1st place.
