Aug-08-08 | | VinnyRoo2002: I love the way this kid plays. I have no idea how good he'll become (I know he's pretty damn good already), but there's something really beautiful and original about the way he plays chess. I get a feeling he will climb up the rankings pretty rapidly. |

 | | Penguincw: Congrats to Eltaj Safarli for stopping Levan Pantsulaia cold at the Nakhchivan Open 2015. Pantsulaia had won all of his first 6 games (including beating 4th seed V Onischuk), but it was 7th seed Safarli who downed Pantsulaia. Both are now at 5/6 heading into Round 7. Safarli will face 11th seed Gadir Guseinov (4.5/6) with black, while Pantsulaia will have white against 6th seed Tiviakov (also 4.5/6). Six other players are at 4.5/6. So far, Safarli (2640) has gained a modest 6.3 rating points. If he wins his next 3 games, he could reach the top 100 live ratings (currently 2653.1 is needed). |
