Peligroso Patzer: Inarkiev had a nice win today against Khairullin, which brings him up to equal third with one round remaining in the Superfinal. Since he does not yet have a CG.com biography, I will note that back in September, Inarkiev won the 59th Russian Championship [ 59th Russian Championship (2006) ]. That event was apparently a qualifier for the Russian Superfinal now in progress, but is still a very prestigious tournament in its own right.
Dec-27-06  DutchDunce: He's been a busy bee this quarter. 34 games played, and his rating shot up 40 points, from 2629 to 2669. I remember him most for the sly grin he had on his face in a photo on Kosteniuk's site, when he knew he was going to win against her.
Mar-16-07  argishti: Looks like a very solid player, i am impressed.

waustad: He seems to like to teeter on the brink if the dozen or so games I looked at are indicative. Lots of decisive games with lots of sharp tactics.
Apr-24-08  timhortons: first time i heard of his name and im impressed of his win over mamedyarov in bakugrandprix, in an interview with fide he said english is the langguage in chess world and he speak english well
Apr-24-08  timhortons: hey! the arm band..look at the arm ban, its che guevarra, long live che!!!
Apr-24-08  Resignation Trap: <timhortons> There aren't very many Russians named "Ernesto", but that was Che's first name, and Inarkiev was named for him.
Jul-15-08  jon01: Inarkiev always plays his games sharply and unpredictably. I hope he reaches 2700 and will become more popular player.
Oct-05-08  Billy Vaughan: Eek! He won't at this pace: +0 -3 =0 at Russian Superfinals so far. Hope he picks it up with some wins!

Dec-09-08  timhortons: happy birthday ernesto!
Dec-26-08  walker: Initially I was sorry for the guy. Who wants to be named after a murderer? I know an older man nameed after Adolf Hitler and his life was a nightmare because of his parents idiotic choice. But now I see that our Ernesto has a small portret of the murderer Ernesto Gevara. Such a pitty.
Dec-26-08  walker: On his right hand*
Jan-11-09  WhiteRook48: I didn't know he was named after a murderer.
Aug-16-09  Etienne: Walker, weren't those fighting against Che Guevara also murderers following your logic?

GrahamClayton: Inarkiev does not like to leave the board during his games, as he thinks he will loose his concentration. During the 2009 European Individual championships, the hot conditions led to Inarkiev refeshing himself by placing drops of water from a wine glass onto his forehead, rather than going to the bathroom.

Jan-29-12  plimko: Inarkiev is the top seeded player in Moscow Open (from 28 january to 5 february)

In the first round a little surprise, Chigaev-Inarkiev 1/2, but a very good job from the teenager Maksim (born in 1996):
