Nov-05-04   poktirity: Anybody know this guy?

acirce: Born in 1985. #4 on the "Top 10 players on their 13th birthday" list at http://www.chessmetrics.com/AL/AL13...

Today's rating 2604, expected to rise

Nov-05-04   MoonlitKnight: He's a Moscovit, and I heard he is a cool guy. I read some of his notes to this game M Tissir vs E Inarkiev, 2004 in a Gibraltar Masters bulletin. The setup after black's 10th move is called the Hippopotamus, and his note to the 12th move said something like "the hippo comes out to play!"
Mar-03-05   WTHarvey: Here are some interesting 'must win' postions from Ernesto's games: http://www.wtharvey.com/inar.html
Mar-03-05   offramp: It's a strange name for a Muscovite but I suppose he is named after Ché Guevara.
Mar-03-05   pyryk: Offramp, according to the november issue of Misha interviews on chesscafe.com, you are correct.

Where is my mind: < WTHarvey >
Inarkiev vs I Arakelov, St Petersburg, 2001
Is the solution Rf6 <fxe4> instead of exf4? Just a typo, thanks for the convenient link to your great site.
Sep-14-06   WTHarvey: <Where is my mind> Right you are! :-) I've credited you with the correction.

Where is my mind: Thanks<WTHarvey>Keep up the great work!
Oct-03-06   Tamerlan: You are all wrong! This guy is from Ingushetiya! A small republic which is located near the Chechnia. But he plays in toutaments for Russia. Ingushetiya is a very religious republic, all innhabitants are muslims.
Oct-19-06   Mameluk: <Tamerlan> When he says he is Kirgyz, he is probably Kirgyz?!
Nov-16-06   Tamerlan: Mameluk: No that is impossible, because he got gratulations from the president of Ingushetiya and not from Kirgyz'president. Actually his name says where he is from. In fact he has become the first grandmaster from Ingushetiya to win Russian Championship.
Nov-16-06   Mameluk: MS: Were you born in Kyrgyzstan?
EI: Yes, in a small village in the Osh region. My parents worked at the industrial complex: mother was vice-chairman of the trade union committee and father had a mid-level management position. When I was 6, we moved to the capital, Bishkek (which was called Frunze in those days). I attended school in Bishkek until 2000, when we moved again, this time to Elista, Russia.

He is not russian champion yet, wait a month or so:) He was playing very well 3 times in Pardubice with Kirsan-supporting T-shirt:-(

Nov-17-06   Tamerlan: Mameluk: First of all, the fact that he was born in Kyrgyzstan says nothing about his nationality. The second fact is in some way silly, because he won 56ht Russian championship no matter what.
Nov-17-06   Mameluk: This one? 56th Russian Championships (2003)

56th Russian Championships (2003)/Peter Svidler

56th Russian Championships (2003)/Ernesto Inarkiev

Peligroso Patzer: Inarkiev had a nice win today against Khairullin, which brings him up to equal third with one round remaining in the Superfinal. Since he does not yet have a CG.com biography, I will note that back in September, Inarkiev won the 59th Russian Championship [ 59th Russian Championship (2006) ]. That event was apparently a qualifier for the Russian Superfinal now in progress, but is still a very prestigious tournament in its own right.
Dec-27-06   DutchDunce: He's been a busy bee this quarter. 34 games played, and his rating shot up 40 points, from 2629 to 2669. I remember him most for the sly grin he had on his face in a photo on Kosteniuk's site, when he knew he was going to win against her.
Mar-16-07   argishti: Looks like a very solid player, i am impressed.

waustad: He seems to like to teeter on the brink if the dozen or so games I looked at are indicative. Lots of decisive games with lots of sharp tactics.

Resignation Trap: <timhortons> There aren't very many Russians named "Ernesto", but that was Che's first name, and Inarkiev was named for him.
