He is either from one of Central Asia republics or Muslim parts of Russia (Tatarstan or Bashkiria). Actually, <vonKrolock> has already stated that he is from Kirgizia (Kyrgyzstan), which I believe is true. |

Crime and struggle for freedom are completely different concepts. As you can see, our view of this issue is not different from that of the rest of the world. |

 | | eternaloptimist: I saw GM ibragimov @ the last chess tournament that I played in. It was in Denver in ‘03. There was a group of people talking outside the venue where the tournament was & I was going to start a conversation w/ him in between games. After I said something, he turned around, looked at me & turned back around w/o saying anything. It appears that didn’t speak much English back then lol. 😀 he finished a point behind the winner of the tournament (shabalov).
