Originally from the Soviet Union, Ildar is now living in New Haven, Connecticut. He was the New York State Champion in 2001 and is the current Connecticut State Champ. Adding to his of titles, he tied for first in the 2002 Foxwoods Open. Ildar has a sharp uncompromising style. He seems to play more classicaly with the black pieces as with white he played 1.b3 in a crucial last round NY Masters battle against Igor Novikov. With the black pieces he basically stays with double king pawn. As of November 2002, Ildar is ranked number 13 in the USA. |

Unless I'm mistaken, you'll never see a Slavic woman with a name ending in ov, it will always end in an a. Smashnova, Kourkikova, Navraratilova (sp?), etc. |

| vonKrolock: Ibragimov is from Kirgizia, a landlocked republic in west central Asia bordering on northwestern China; (formerly an Asian Soviet Republic) He stayed here in my State in 1991, and played at the World Junior Ch won, i believe by V. Kramnik (in Guarapuava) see the decisive game Zsofia Polgar vs Kramnik, 1991 - they played also a Student's Team Ch, and the Soviets won (Ibragimov, Sakaev, Kharlov) |

| vonKrolock: Although very young, he was already a chain smoker (i hope he solved this problem, because he's really a nice fellow) - Following the Student's Ol i played a Blitz Ty whith all the Soviet Team except Kramnik: it arrived that my game against the Argentinian Fabian Fiorito had some particular interest in the prize sharing (not for me, i was an outsider), and suddenly our table was surrounded by kibitzers, amongst them the trio Sakaev-Kharlov-Ibragimov - it was the only instance that one of my OTB games was kibitzed by a World Champion Team! |

He is either from one of Central Asia republics or Muslim parts of Russia (Tatarstan or Bashkiria). Actually, <vonKrolock> has already stated that he is from Kirgizia (Kyrgyzstan), which I believe is true. |

| ahmadov: The Azeri people supports the struggle of the Chechen people. We are friends and brothers. However, we will never support those criminals who perpatrated the Beslan tragedy. Crime and struggle for freedom are completely different concepts. As you can see, our view of this issue is not different from that of the rest of the world. |
